Easy no.

If he never plays another game, he's sitting on the outside with Tim Thomas.

If his play tanks, he's sitting on the outside with guys like Theodore and Subban

He has been the best defensemen in the league for 3 years and has won a Norris + Smythe.

Low standards?
Yes?

I don’t believe 4 seasons of elite play should qualify you for the HOF.

Not to mention he has trouble staying healthy.

1 cup, a Norris and a Conn Smythe. He’s a lock for the hall already. And all done within his first 4 seasons in the NHL.

People need to realize the HOF isn’t as prestigious as they think it is.

til you realize there is no way he qualifies over others that are eligible to make it in first yes we think that an incredibly low game count compared to others who put up 1000+ career points and won a cup will definitely be in over him every year.

No one is saying he will be a 1st ballot guy, but given the quality that have been goi nf into the hall lately. A Calder, Norris, Smythe and Cup is more than enough to get in regardless of how long he’s played for

Somewhere MacKinnon approves of this

There are guys who have been waiting for decades who have a much better resume if he retired today and it isn't even close. Good thing he most likely has more than a decade to pile on stats and accolades.

Wtf is up with these polls lately?

Some people have the lowest standards when it comes to who gets into the HOF.
Some people? The HOF itself has the lowest standards when it comes to who get into the HOF

Yeah pretty much. They induct 5 players every year. 1-2 of those spots these days goes to someone from Europe, a woman player, or a previously passed over player. So just going by the numbers, roughly from every draft class 3-4 of those players are going to make the HoF.

The general rule of thumb I go with is lets take Cale Makar and look at his draft year on hockeydb.com 2017. Let's also add in 2016 and 2018 drafts. Is Makar a top 10 player in that list? Then he should make the HoF.

Now obviously he could have a career ending injury tomorrow and you don't make the HoF on 4 seasons. But other than a scenario like that considering his talents it's pretty safe to say he's done enough to be a lock.

Not if he retires today but as long as his play doesn't fall off a cliff, he honestly doesn't really need to win much more hardware to make it when he retires.

How many players with less than 3 full season's worth of NHL games played are in the HHOF? The only correct answer to the question of whether he has done enough already is of course not.

I'm starting to think that somebody told SeanMoneyHands and WarriorofTime that there is a prize for starting the most threads on this site. :dunno:
