now show his playoff numbers and all the cup rings he's won.
But that has nothing to do with your original statement. You can't just spit your dummy out when someone replies to you and shout "yeah but 1967".

You should've just started with that and not fannied around.

Taveras has been good in reg season, underwelming in the playoffs like the other cast of characters. He has 24 pts in 38 gp with Toronto in playoffs, for an $11 million player, that’s not good.

He looks better this year than last. He's moving better. He doesn't look as slow or sluggish and seems to be handling the puck better.

I still don't want him back next year unless he signs a contract that pays him a lot less than his current deal. Hope TOR makes good use of the cap space that will be freed up when his contract expires.

A SJ fan talking about rings cups and playoffs numbers is hilarious considering how you guys absolutely laid massive eggs with that good SJ team for like a decade hahahaha.
Funny coming from a fan of a team that has never won more than 2 rounds ever.

This really isn't true. The NHL edge data shows he's roughly the same skating wise, if not slightly worse than last year: NHL EDGE Puck and Player Tracking Statistics - Skaters

Tavares has always been a slow player, he's still slow. Not sure why people focus on that so much. His IQ is still elite.

Fair enough. He seems to have more space and time when he's playing five on five compared to last year. Maybe the new system has something to do with that. I do think he's handling the puck better this year. He seemed to bobble it a lot last season.

The important thing is that he's playing and producing better at ES this season.

Back when the Leafs signed him I thought he would have declined much more in the final years of his deal. He’s still a legit number 1 center. He is the second most productive free agent signing of the cap era. Only Panarin put up more points after signing with a new team. Selanne is just a smidge behind him at 3.

His contract expires next season anyway so it does not matter. I would think the Leafs are walking away from him.

what did you expect? The guy is at the end of a seven year contract. That will have him at 35 years old. Lol your thread is a cheap attempt to stir the pot.
Once his contract is up, thensame miniute they are legit contenders. 9M of that shouldm go for a D

He’s a good player but at 11M, he blocked the Leafs from getting upgrades they actually needed and from winning rounds

I think it will be amusing if TML don’t resign him, spends that money on a Dman, still don’t go deep into the playoffs, and watch Tavares win the cup and Conn Smythe on his new team. The leafs board would be interesting
