I feel he's been given every opportunity to show something for this team.

I would like some type of forward on hand that can fight.. seem to be making something of a comeback although we don't seem to have any in the system.

I guess I am ok with him staying until a better option is found. He does not need to play every game.. sprinkle him in.

If he isn't going to fight or put a little fear into the other team then what good is he? He's a good soundbite and probably popular in the room, but so what?

He'd easily clear.

It’s funny because the Bruins board take is that their team was scared of Reaves and stopped running around after he spoke to Zadorov

Leafs problems right now
50% Matthews
15% Marner
10% bottom six is ice cold
24% years of ineptitude, bad roster construction, bad memories, and the glaring issue of allocating a ton of cap into four guys who can't win
1% Reaves sucks

Sure, waive him, but that's only really asking to make a slight change to the shade of lipstick we're putting on the pig.
I think that bottom 6 not scoring is a bigger factor.

I know fans don't really care, or think it is of any value, but I think it is very important for the dressing room to have people in there that the group value and like for the regular season.

If the players find that Reeves is an important part of the group, and helps with various aspects of being a pro, I'm OK with that in the regular season.

It's a long, long season. 82 games. It's a grind. Team dynamics are very important. Extremely important actually. If the players love Reeves and he helps the mood throughout the year, I don't mind allocating 1.3mil of the cap towards that.

Don't know if you watch many podcasts with ex players? I normally watch football (soccer) ones and every single time the player on the podcast reference a guy in the changing that was crucial to their cup run/league win etc. And generally you think, he was shit though.

Once the playoffs roll around different story.

Reeves has a role during the regular season. We have guys like Robertson, McMann, Holmberg, who are providing very little offense from the bottom 6 and that's there role. They're under preforming.

I've actually thought he's been a bit better this year. Our fourth line doesn't need to fight to be effective. Having said that, I'd rather him get claimed by someone else than have his salary. There are guys that can do what he does and even a bit more for that price tag.

And here's the catch: People complain Reaves didn't do anything (when he actually did go after Zadorov after the Pacioretty thing), and not jumping the guy. Leafs end up with a PP goal because of this play. Alternate - Reaves gets at Zadorov, takes a penalty - people complain he did so resulting in not having a PP Pre-determined lose - lose situation????
Yeah, that's kind of the whole point. He offers nothing positive. He either does nothing, and is just out there hurting the team. Or he does something, and he hurts the team. Because Reaves has nothing to offer, other than things that hurt the team.

lol, you’d be the first guy to criticize anyone for doing that and costing us a game.

Maybe if it was a playoffs game.

Even then that's debateable. I would never criticize anyone for punching out someone on the other team. At least half, if not more, of the reason I watch hockey is just to see to guys punching each other in their stupid ugly faces.

I wouldn't give a crap if it cost them a regular season game at all.
