25-33 I would think. Reflexes start to tank big at 35.

Hmm. I think I read an article somewhere that analyzed the "prime" of goaltenders and I was surprised to find it was 31-34 or something. I might be completely wrong though and I wouldn't even know what to begin to search for to find it on Google.

id probably be a little more comfortable if Cory was 24-25, but whatever

Lou is going to give Cory a blank check and tell him to name his price.

There's no way in hell that Lou will allow the present/future in Net leave.

Cory will be here for the long haul. Hes not going anywhere. Hes the most important part of this organization moving forward.

I can see him walking if we don't make the playoffs one of these two years. That's why I think we gotta scrap Deboer already. Junk him and lets get this season turned around or at least try to.

I think it starts a lot earlier than that. I think you see most of them start looking good at 24, and then make a jump in the 25,26,27. Tail off a bit after 31 and more after 33, and are in decline at 35.

The succinct answer to the question this thread poses is "YES". There really is no logical or sensible argument that will convince me as to "NO".

Appreciate all Lou has done, but he's been bad since the previous lockout in pretty much every avenue whether it be coaching choices, overseeing Conte's terrible drafting record, Albany's lack of development, cap dilemmas seemingly every year, bad FA signings.

We need fresh blood, outside thinking, and a new philosophy and strategy going forward.

Can we start a thread on Conte too?
His good ole boy network of scouts need serious evaluations.
Especially the Euro division.

Matteau is a PIM machine. as of now thats it

Agreed.

Unless he(Matteau) gets it in his thick skull that the days of "enforcers" are gone and you have to be able to bring some offensive talent to the table while playing good 'D', I'm not very encouraged by his future prospects here.... :(

We need an NHL player who can PLAY, not sit in the penalty box 24/7.

Oh and to reiterate.....HOW DARE EVERYONE BASH LOU! REPENT!! :D
