Is Corey Perry a good luck or bad luck charm?

harping on a player for being in top 2 too many times without being in top 1 is such ridiculous logic. What about the 30 teams who aren't even top 2?

These narratives are always so eyerolly. Guy is 40. He can't do everything. He does his part.
Ahhhhh......the drawbacks of using just words to communicate without the aid of tone of voice, facial cues that are oh so vital to human commination and understanding. Pity. Such a pity. 😔

....it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek while marveling at the fact that it will be 5 times in 6 seasons he'll have played in the finals when 90% of the players don't get to play in even one over their entire careers

Perry is the epitome of the player you hate when he is on the opposition and love when he is on your side. He's been a great addition to the Oilers. Whether he brings luck or not is disputable but what is not disputable is that he brings heart and a valuable veteran presence.
People forget those last 2 things in your post are very important for a team. Lots of hockey fans think the game is played on a chart or a spread sheet but they forget the things that don't show up in the statistics are sometimes just as important.

In past 6 seasons....

4 (likely to be 5)times in finals = good luck?
4 losses in finals = bad luck?

Quite an interesting story. Only player I can recall coming close to this is Marian Hossa.

On the winning side Claude Lemuiex won two straight with two different teams.
He was good luck.. until now.

Just making a joke about he always makes finals.

I have Oilers in 7 with home ice being the difference this time. I think Florida is the better team but we do have two magical unicorns that can maybe make the difference.
I see Edmonton winning if Skinner can avoid shitting the bed.

They came back last year from 3-0 to force a game 7, McDavid and Draisaitl are hungrier than ever....Kane is Kane lol....

No hyman hurts .. a lot. I'd say he's a top 5 player for us.. McDrai, bouch, RNH, Ekholm and Hyman.

But a healthy drai.. a healthy Kane are very encouraging. Stecher in the stands is also a great bonus. Same with Derek Ryan. We have tkcachuks, Bennett's, Perry's and kanes running around. Someone will get hurt.lol

I think we see Pickard in this series. I have loved every Stu win but he is still shutout or under .830. his last game was .812.

Its neither good luck or bad luck.

If you look at all these finals appearances, Perry was never on the team considered the favourite.

This year is the first time I'll be picking Perry's team to win the final. I dont know if that's a controversial take but I think we can mostly agree at the very least that this is the best chance for perry to win out of all the final appearances he's had since 2020.

Wish the Hawks could’ve held onto him to get something back. He probably cost us a 1st round pick getting slammed at a bar.

He's won a cup though.
