Speculation: Is Bowen Byram available? or will be? Lots of speculation about him from the "insiders"

Buffalo is going to move someone. To much smoke out there reporting somethings up. Is it Byram? Could be given their LHD depth.

With Lebrun's report I'd expect it to be for a forward coming back. We'll have to see if anything materializes from all of the rumors by insiders. But you got to figure Adams is under pressure for the playoffs, it's been what now? 4? 5? years at the helm with no results?

Pittsburgh need to start their rebuilding
Buffalo need a 2C with experience
What about this trade
Pittsburgh trade Malkin to buffalo
Buffalo trade Byram.

With this trade Buffalo will have a C with cup experience and Malkin will help them to make the Playoff

For Pittsburgh have a pretty good D and make a Letang move after
We are losing our first pair defenseman, which creates a hole that no one can fill. I doubt Malkin would give up his NMС for Buffalo, I'm even sure of it, but I thought it would be more profitable for Pittsburgh to sell him for a decent futures package.

Byram should be a lot closer to “untouchable” than “available”.

There’s no reason to take a strength of this entire build (Dahlin-Power-Byram blueline core) and turn it into a weakness.

The Sabres still have a jillion young players and prospects with lots of promise, even after deal Savoie. They can make a splashy move without sacrificing a young core guy they invested heavily in and who is playing great.

Sabres say no
Sabres don't say anything and just hang up.

Also, anyone thinking they're getting Byram on the cheap is fooling themselves. He's a young defenseman with defensive issues, but it's not uncommon for those issues to be ironed out in time. He brings things you just can't teach, and if the defensive side of the game ever materializes, then you're looking a top pairing defenseman.

It still seems like Ruff trusts him a lot, whether some of us agree with that or no. In his last 8 games, he's been over 21 minutes every game. There is a 32:34 and a 27:35 in his last three games. For a team that has Dahlin (averaging 24 minutes a night) and Power (averaging 21+) it does seem the idea is to have one if not two of them on the ice for the whole game.

Sabres 4-1 in last 5. Lost a (supposed to be) core D to injury. Byram is not moving right now. Joker is the odd man out if we move one. He wants to add, so futures for a top 4 tor top 6 player.

Kinda wild that he's tied for the league lead in ES points among defensemen since he went on this heater.

If media stooges are being manipulated to will a trade into existence it should be a gigantic red flag to the team with the targeted player. The Game is being played and Adams is the mark everyone is sizing up to fleece.

It does seem like a bunch of the rumble about this came out of the second biggest English click-bait hockey rumor mill in the league, i.e. Vancouver.

If he's shopping him, this last stretch should be a high quality showcase. All those minutes, all those ES points... the guy is getting it done. If some other team wants him, seems like it would cost.

Ummmm Servallli is an American. You guys can keep him. He was on a Vancouver station. The rumor didn't start here. Keep that ancient 37 year old in his own lane. He's even dumber than Elliote Friedman. Servalli was hilarious when he said he and Gaudreau were part of the Philly/Jersey hockey community. That prick would have a jammer skating a lap around the rink. The dude is the same age as Sidney. Let that sink in.

And why the hell would the Sabres trade Byram? Or Power for that matter. They need the big centers to get the lead out and get some goaltending. They have so many pieces to be a wagon for a while.

Levi needs to step it up. Canada needs a goalie. It's the only position that will kill them in the 4 Nations tourney and 2026 Olympics.,They have better skaters than anyone.

Byram isn’t being moved. Now if we could interest you in a Samuelsson or Jokiharju

No thanks. Those two slugs aren't an upgrade on Myers or Soucy. We need a legit top 4 guy that can move puck and has some bite. Handedness isn't an issue. He would play with Myers or Soucy and bump the other guy to the third pair. Cole and Zadorov took a lot of heat off of Myers and Soucy last year. I was patient watching them struggle early but they've gotten ventilated lately. Juulsen is useless. Canucksxbadly need a solid D man

The speculation came out of his radio bit on a Vancouver radio station. And Vancouver hockey coverage is nothing if not a rabid echo chamber for these sort of things. Doesn't matter where the guy is from, it matters that it's done to get clicks in a hockey-mad fan base.

Oh I'm aware that he does a spot here. The Vancouver media here chomps cocks other than Shorthouse, Murphy and Ferarro. Biggest group of meat puppets in the league. That said Servalli and Friedman troll a lot of the diaper tossing fans that reside here.

Not a horrible idea, BB with Artyom could be a nice pairing. Might be too offensively focused though.
Horrible for Buffalo. Why would we trade Byram, who is a first pair player, to get a second pair player? Murphy might be interesting, but for a futures deal, not for Byram.

I agree Chicago would need to add, but Murphy would be a great fit as a shutdown RHD. I just don't think it really makes sense for either team though.

No need to add Chicago, we just don't need to trade Byram, because he's a very important player in the roster right now. I'm willing to pay just 1st for Murphy and maybe some mid-level prospect, but we need Byram ourselves.

Byram - Dahlin
Power - Murphy

If you remove Byram you get a hole in the first pair, even though you add Murphy to the second.
