Speculation: Is Bowen Byram available? or will be? Lots of speculation about him from the "insiders"

Buffalo is going to move someone. To much smoke out there reporting somethings up. Is it Byram? Could be given their LHD depth.

With Lebrun's report I'd expect it to be for a forward coming back. We'll have to see if anything materializes from all of the rumors by insiders. But you got to figure Adams is under pressure for the playoffs, it's been what now? 4? 5? years at the helm with no results?

Pittsburgh need to start their rebuilding
Buffalo need a 2C with experience
What about this trade
Pittsburgh trade Malkin to buffalo
Buffalo trade Byram.

With this trade Buffalo will have a C with cup experience and Malkin will help them to make the Playoff

For Pittsburgh have a pretty good D and make a Letang move after
We are losing our first pair defenseman, which creates a hole that no one can fill. I doubt Malkin would give up his NMС for Buffalo, I'm even sure of it, but I thought it would be more profitable for Pittsburgh to sell him for a decent futures package.

Byram should be a lot closer to “untouchable” than “available”.

There’s no reason to take a strength of this entire build (Dahlin-Power-Byram blueline core) and turn it into a weakness.

The Sabres still have a jillion young players and prospects with lots of promise, even after deal Savoie. They can make a splashy move without sacrificing a young core guy they invested heavily in and who is playing great.

Sabres say no
Sabres don't say anything and just hang up.

Also, anyone thinking they're getting Byram on the cheap is fooling themselves. He's a young defenseman with defensive issues, but it's not uncommon for those issues to be ironed out in time. He brings things you just can't teach, and if the defensive side of the game ever materializes, then you're looking a top pairing defenseman.

It still seems like Ruff trusts him a lot, whether some of us agree with that or no. In his last 8 games, he's been over 21 minutes every game. There is a 32:34 and a 27:35 in his last three games. For a team that has Dahlin (averaging 24 minutes a night) and Power (averaging 21+) it does seem the idea is to have one if not two of them on the ice for the whole game.

The number of people who think we’re moving a 23yo top 4 D (with upside) for a 35yo middle 6 F is pretty f***ing funny, ngl.

Sabres 4-1 in last 5. Lost a (supposed to be) core D to injury. Byram is not moving right now. Joker is the odd man out if we move one. He wants to add, so futures for a top 4 tor top 6 player.
