He is pretty good at trades. Maybe the only one that's not good it's Sergachev, but everyone are happy when 22 years old Drouin become a Habs. (We don't know, maybe next year he is going to put 60 points).

I'll give him credit for Subban and Suzuki trades, bringing in Perry, etc.

But you don't get credit for drafting players who fell or weren't offered contracts because of other GM's shittiness.

Hosed on the Drouin trade, but was able to snag Tatar at least.

Cue Montreal fans becoming absolutely unsufferable

He is not that good of a GM and made a number of bad moves (made slightly more good ones though)

The Habs got hot at the right time and are riding a hot goalie and getting career preformances from some key players. This is not a knock, almost any team making the Finals does so because they get hot at the right time. Its not because of some great GM, its pure luck

StL got hot at the right time, did the exact same thing and won a cup. NJD, Dallas, New York etc etc are all teams who made the Finals on a hot run. Most never amounted to anything after

So enjoy the ride (truly), but also realize your team likely will struggle to make the playoffs next year and likely wont see round 2 for another few years
