He's still fairly young at 29 and still have many years left in his prime. Will likely finish around 1400pts in his career and at least a few more Selkes.

I’d say if his career ended today, he would have enough to squeak in. Just enough of a track record, a cup, 2 selke’s.

I don't see how he is kept out besides him turning to a life of crime or something.

Multiple Selkes, probably multiple cups as 1C, should finish with 1100 points at minimum.

He similar to your Bergeron/Kopitar/Toews and probably already better than Toews
He was fined over 100 000€ because of a crime Some years ago..

The crime was speeding

Not sure on many years left but we will see, at some point the mssed time with injuries does catch up.

Um no he isn't finishing around 1400 points a he doesn't even have 800 yet.

My bet is maybe between 1100 and 1200 points.

He isn't a lock yet but he is trending that way and I'd be surprised if he doesn't make the HHOF.

Maybe after the 26-27 season we can start talking about him being a lock.

Currently he has two Selkes and one Cup.

If he wins a second cup, adds another individual award like a 3rd Selke or a Conn Smythe or some other individual award, then it will be hard to deny him.

EDIT: Forgot the 2021 Selke. Edited to reflect that.

That's it.

I think people are getting ahead of themselves. If he wins a second cup, a second Selke, adds a Conn Smythe or some other individual award, then it will be hard to deny him, but that's a lot of ifs.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot he won the Lady Byng. Obviously that puts him over the top into first ballot status.

He already has two Selkes (2021 & 2024).

What? He has 2 Selke

Also has a Lady Byng, and is the only Finnish Captain to ever win the Cup.

Still has another 8 to 10 years left.

He will get there once it's all over but if his career ended today, probably not.

Top 5 Finnish player of all time.

You are asking about right now though, what does finishing with 1,400 pts have to do with this or a few more Selkes. He’ll be 30 years old before the start of next season and doesn’t have 800 pts yet, 1,400 seems a bit of a stretch but certainly doable. I’m not sure if there are many sub 800 pt, sub ppg players there are in the HHOF

If Carbonneau is in then yes he is a lock, better offensively, just as good defensively.
I agree Barkov is getting in but he’s not a lock at this point in his career. Guy has more cups and Selkes and is a weak HOF entrant.

I'm trying to think of a way he doesn't make it in now.

He is 1C Stanley Cup winner with multiple Selkes and three straight finals appearances that's at worse.

Even if he were to absolutely fall off a cliff and become a 20-25 point player for the rest of his contract that would still put him over more career points than say Jonathan Toews and I think we all agree he is a lock.

If he were to pass away in two weeks I guess you could make the case he doesn't have quite the numbers but he would still get in based on sympathy sometime.

So yeah, he is a lock to get in unless he becomes a murderer or drug kingpin or something

Barkov is way better offensively and obviously isn't ending his career right now.

He is basically a lock, two selkes, 3 finals, 1 cup.

He is easily gonna hit 1k points and 400 goals if he keeps playing, with his other accolades, he is basically a lock.

When the question is if you think he’s already a lock, I assume that means today and if he never played another game
