Is Anthony Stolarz the real deal?
Yup. Just like Raycroft, Toskala, Reimer, Bernier, Sparks, Andersen, Campbell, Murray, Samsonov.... Yeah, I'd put him smack dab in the middle of that list.forums.hfboards.com
I mean Stolarz is already signed for next season so no extension is coming until at the very earliest the summer.Sure seems like it so far. How he handles the workload by the end of the season is a different story.
I would be wary of committing to any extension before he proves himself capable of handling a full season as the starter. They already made that mistake once with Woll.
Glad we have two years to see what he can do before his contract needs renewal. Then we have Woll, whose younger and also has been very good albeit injury prone. This ones easy.
Will continue to have a great year and sign a big multi year deal -------> pumpkin
3 of 4 still possible. Matthews is not going to play that much most likely. Not joking when I say this but I believe the following will happen this year
Stolarz finalist for Vezina
Matthews finalist for Selke and Hart
Berube finalist for Coach of the year
Leafs win the Atlantic
Look at the size of him. He's built like an offensive lineman. He's not long for the league. He's like a taller Chris Farley.
That's a stupid take. I loved Chris Farley but he was the furthest thing from an athlete. Stolarz is healthy and athletic.and not thick??
2 Of 4 are long shots right now3 of 4 still possible. Matthews is not going to play that much most likely.
1/4 done in the season Leafs are first in the Atlantic2 Of 4 are long shots right now
Berube as finalist is highly unlikely
Leafs winning Atlantic , not as much a long shot, but Florida would need to really fall off and the leafs take it up a notch
But stolarz definitely has a shot at vezina finalist right now
