Is Anthony Stolarz the real deal?

His career high in games is 28, and he's 30 years old which probably answers my question. Yet his numbers are really solid, and he's been pretty consistent.

Sure seems like it so far. How he handles the workload by the end of the season is a different story.

I would be wary of committing to any extension before he proves himself capable of handling a full season as the starter. They already made that mistake once with Woll.

I mean Stolarz is already signed for next season so no extension is coming until at the very earliest the summer.

He’s 2nd behind Dostal in goals saved above expected so far. This after being among the league leaders in that last season. Sample size getting bigger indicating that he’s just really good and had previously never gotten the chance to run with a starting job.

This ones easy.
Will continue to have a great year and sign a big multi year deal -------> pumpkin
Glad we have two years to see what he can do before his contract needs renewal. Then we have Woll, whose younger and also has been very good albeit injury prone.

He's a solid goalie, as I said earlier. He's big and plays well positionally, so he's not going to make the highlights.

For what it's worth, it's the first goalie I've been truly excited by since Belfour.

He looks 100% real to me, if he was a stock I'd be long all day. He doesn't overplay positionally, he rarely seems to be caught out of position, he's big but moves well, and he doesn't seem to have the 1-goal-lead nerves we've suffered from over the past few years.

I haven't seen anything negative out of the games I've watched yet.
