You could take every cup champion in history and find ways to diminish their achievement. Most would probably be technically "valid." But because of that, it all kind of evens out in the end.

You could play the game of "well the 2015 Blackhawks would beat the shit out of the 2023 Knights" but that's kind of just... a fun (for some) theoretical exercise that's kind of unrelated to the point.

How could it not be? All year, the East whined about how terrible the Pacific was and how undeserving they were of making the playoffs. But Vegas was the only team to make the Canes sweat even a little.
