Hometown: Buffalo, NY > Central Illinois > Chicago > Arizona
Where you live: Peoria, AZ
Nationality: American
Occupation: Tech
What brought you to HF: Joined years ago. Just looking to converse and connect with other hockey fans.
Are you a former Arizona fan: Former and current. I really hope we can get a new team here in AZ in a timely manner.
Why you're a Utah fan: I don't know yet. Seeing if I'm going to grow into it. Remaining open minded.
Favorite player on the team: Cooley
Favorite player around the league: Having been born in Buffalo, I'm also a pretty big Sabres fan. So I think I'd have to go with Tage Thompson.
Games you like: Pokemon Go, FIFA, Chel, Ticket To Ride, various poker games.
Music you like: Hardcore, metalcore, rock, alt, punk, pop punk, emocore.
Movies you like: Anything Star Wars, Marvel, and some comedies. I like Old School, Orange County,, Talladega Nights and Wedding Crashers are a few that come to mind.
TV shows you like: Anything Food Network, HGTV and paranormal shit on Travel Channel. My wife and I also dig Masked Singer (it's a f***ing cult, I swear).
Favorite food: Nachos
Hockey jerseys owned: Two Coyotes and Two Sabres jerseys.
Anything else: Hey y'all. I'm trying to work through this and make sense of it, please grant me some grace here. I've never been to Utah. I love living in AZ. Losing the Coyotes in AZ has been devastating on my mental health. I guess reaching out here because I do feel some attachment to the players and team/this group y'all are getting up North. They really are a great group. But on a more personal note, the Yotes and hockey community here in Arizona has been huge in helping it feel like home when I moved here five years ago. I guess this post is my first foray into seeing if that same sense of community can expand North. I don't know. Like I said, I am still working to make sense of it. I know this much - if I were watching a hockey game right now with this group of players, and Logan Cooley scored a goal, I think I would both cry and smile. So I don't know. I guess I'm just hoping to feel welcome - feel a proxy for the sense of community and connection I'm feeling from the loss, and remaining open minded of what I might find.

Just for fun, so far, I counted up where people live (who have actually responded to that question) and divided it into four categories. Here are the results:

Arizona: 11.5 (one part-time resident explains the 0.5)
Utah: 6
Manitoba: 2
Other: 24.5 (one part-time resident's other place for the 0.5)

A few foreigners too...besides the Canadians. :)

Are you a former Arizona fan:
Till I die
Why you're a Utah fan:
the players and staff
Favorite player on the team:
Hard to pick one. Keller, Cooley, Guenther and Doan all lead the pack
Favorite player around the league:
too many. Patrick Kane first to come to mind.
Games you like:
not a big game guy so I’ll go NHL 24
Music you like:
Reggae, 90’s Hip Hop, Big Band, Alternative, Country, etc. Probably easier to list what I don’t.
Movies you like:
Jurassic Park. Tarantino movies
TV shows you like:
Breaking Bad, The Office, Yellowjackets, Dexter
Favorite food:
Italian
Hockey jerseys owned:
First ever was a Shane Doan home howling Coyotes. Next was a Keith Ballard authentic away jersey. Mix in the roadkill Coyote 3rd jersey. I own all of the 3 Coyotes current (?) jerseys. I own a Black Keller, a white one with my name and number on it and the Arizona 3rd with my name and number on it
Anything else:
i’m gonna try my best to be fully committed to a team that is no longer the team I grew up with. I’m giving it a shot, but won’t know how I truly feel about it until the season starts. I also have no idea how I’m going to feel if the Coyotes do truly come back. Will I still follow Utah? Or will I start fresh in AZ? I can’t imagine myself passionately following two teams. I’m just gonna figure it out as I go along.

Hometown: All over Utah
Where you live: Salt Lake City, UT
Nationality: American
Occupation: Railroad Track Maintainer
What brought you to HF: Looking for Canes/Isles game 5 commentary
Are you a former Arizona fan: Not until the last three games
Why you're a Utah fan: I'm Utah born and raised, baby! This state is weird as hell for sure, but it's MY weird as hell state. I've been hooked on hockey since a buddy introduced me to the Canes a few years back, and I can't describe how thrilling it is to be getting our own local team. Here for the long haul.
Favorite player on the team: Gotta love O'Brien's energy. Instant crowd favorite at the welcome party. Schmaltz is a beast.
Favorite player around the league: Hated watching Kuznetsov play against the Canes. Love watching him play for us now.
Games you like: Breath of the Wild, Pan Am, Spades
Music you like: Whole wide range. Got a commercial music degree, so pretty much anything. Really been digging Beyonce's 2018 Homecoming: Live album. Never heard anything so high-energy and high-quality for so long, especially as a live show.
Movies you like: Everything Everywhere, What's Up Doc?
TV shows you like: Star Trek TNG (SNW has grown on me), A Gentleman in Moscow, Reno 911!
Favorite food: I'd kill for a good mac salad. Hands down.
Hockey jerseys owned: Couple knockoffs. Seth Jarvis/Freddie Andersen
Anything else: I'm determined to be the grouchy old "I was there on day one" man, since technically this is a brand new team. Camped out at the Delta Center all day before the "welcome party," made it through the doors first, and cried tears of joy when the players walked out. Can't wait for the season to start! At the same time, I hope the Yotes franchise can be reactivated down the road for SURE. I'm thrilled to have a team to finally, properly call my own, but I don't love that it's at the expense of the wonderful folks in Phoenix.
