I don't subscribe to the Athletic but Portzline today had a teaser with JP McConnell about interest from "Haslam" The only Haslam I know owns the Browns and Crew. On of those franchises is run better than the other. Anyone know what Porty was talking about with his comment of interest from Haslam?
The Columbus Blue Jackets are in transition at the ownership level. While John P. McConnell, 71, remains the majority owner, his son, John H. McConnell II, 41, was elevated to alternate governor last fall and is on track to assume majority ownership of the franchise.
He would be the third member of the family to hold a majority ownership stake in the franchise, and early indications suggest John H. McConnell II will be more integrated with Blue Jackets management and the...
My memory sucks but I thought Nill was after Howson was fired and it was Bob Murray (who went to Anaheim) that snubbed us after Doug was finally let go?Do any of you long timers remember back to when GM Doug MacLean was fired and Jim Nill, when he was the Asst GM with the Wings name was mentioned as a possible replacement. Am I remembering that correct and does anyone remember what happened? Was he just not interested or what? I think from time to time if he had been our GM would we maybe have the same success as the Stars?
I wish I would've sat in the lower bowl even once as a kid. lolYou were one of those punks that kept kicking the back of my seat in 105, weren't you?
haha... I started in 105 as a Day 1 STH. Was in row L and the guys behind us used to tell my wife what to yell at the refs. I kind of hated it when they started because I grew up an Islanders fan and knew the game (when to cheer, what was good play, bad play, etc.) and everyone in the section would ask me questions during the game. I just wanted to watch. Took about 2 years before I could just enjoy the game as a fan and not an educator. hahaYou were one of those punks that kept kicking the back of my seat in 105, weren't you?
My grandpa (passed three years ago, got buried in his jersey) got season tickets for the first ten seasons or so, two in row M and three in row N directly behind those, we were closer to the goal than to the benches, whatever those seat numbers arehaha...
