Injury Thread '24-‘25 (Post 1 has current injury status)

So still nothing on Stecher at all? Is he even skating? We could really use him with Emberson playing 10 mins a night only, and Klingberg playing 17 last night. Stecher is better than Emberson at this point for certain, and would then help limit Klingberg's minutes as well. But it seems like Stecher is a long ways away still.

Stetcher skated yesterday and or the day before according to Stauffer. Otherwise radio silence.

I’m not sure Ekholm will appreciate a casual private off the record elevator conversation about his personal injury status being thrown up on X by f***face Gregor but that’s just my opinion.

He isn't playing, even if we miraculously get past Vegas. He is done if the rumors of torn groin or hamstring are true.

Knob said he will not play in the 2nd round, but there is a possibility after that. That's a lot better than "next year for sure." Although with the Oilers injury info, you never know. They always keep you guessing.;)

haha, they sure do, don't they?

It's playoffs as well, so I never really believe anything they say on the totality truthfully.

You

You must be miserable that the oilers made it to the second round.

No, pretty stoked, especially with it coming with Pickard playing. If I was king, I would have been willing to sacrifice this playoff season to highlight how Skinner isn't the answer moving forward. But winning AND that being super obvious is a double win that I'm happy to take.

Skinner will be back in eventually and it isn't a 100% chance he'll suck. Pickard is a gamer but one of the teams ahead will figure out how to exploit a career backup over 7 games. Hopefully one of us is wrong.

As if Skinner wont be inserted back in as soon as Pickard loses a game.

Do you just pretend to be miserable on the internet? Some sort of defense mechanism.

I'm not miserable at all though, that is what is hilarious to me. How could you be miserable with how good this team has been the last 5 years? We missed winning the cup by 2 goals last year, it was a wildly successful year that you'd be an idiot to not have enjoyed. I just don't buy into the idea of "blind fandom", if I think a certain thing, whether its for/against my team, I say it. I get that this isn't the normal behavior for FANatics, so its confusing to many people. It's just a am with everything in life, I look at things for what they are, rather than what I wish them to be. Most people do this in life, but make exceptions for sports. I do this same exception as well, just not as much as others I've noticed. I know people are are cold and calculated in work life, but are 140% homers in sports, as example.

I thought we'd lose by a lot against LA as an example, cause I thought our players were too injured and our tending too poor. They turned it around in both regards, although Ekholm being out still really hurt. I actually feel more confident about the Vegas series, although we'll still need a lot of tending luck to get past them. But with Kane and Frederic both looking like they are largely past their injuries, that completely changes the dynamic of our forwards. Klingberg all of a sudden being competent has been a strange surprise as well, that helps offset the loss of Ekholm. I'd still say we were the underdogs against Vegas, but I could see us beating them.

Anyway, this is injury thread, not a "what does JD think about the world thread", lol, so I'll shut up now.
