Injury Thread '24-‘25 (Post 1 has current injury status)

I wouldn't freak out over the "we'll know more tomorrow", that is a pretty standard answer that almost all coaches gives. Obviously it would be better for him to say that it doesn't appear to be much, but saying we'll know more in a bit on an injury is pretty common. It's just how coaches speak in the moment.

I’m more concerned by his comment that Draisaitl came back earlier than he would have liked and now Drai’s hurt again.

That is assuming its the same injury, when it pretty clearly isn't at this point (at least from watching video). Coming back early from a knee injury doesn't matter at all if dislocate your shoulder by falling into the boards the next game. Just using examples, those aren't Drai's injuries.

Unless Drai re-injured the same thing, which again doesn't appear to be the case, whether he came back a little early or not from his previous injury is inconsequential.

He went down originally after stepping on a players skate and then went down again like a couple minutes after he stepped on the puck I think most people can see the link. At this point let him get better even if it means missing the remainder of the regular season.

I think everybody agrees here. We aren't playing for anything other than 1 more home game in the first series anyhow. Drai, McDavid, and Ekholm should all just sit out the rest of the year. Kane and Frederic need some games in though, so would be good for them to come back prior to the playoffs (Kane in AHL I guess, unless we LTIR one of Ekholm or McDavid). McDrai and Ekholm have all played recently enough that a little break isn't going to hurt their timing or anything like that. Health is more important.

Imagine being so stupid you trade for an injured player get retention on said player that you don't even need than play him seven minutes for him to get reinjured. They better win the cup because if not I think the collective heads are gonna be called for chopping come summertime
