Injury Report: Injured Players Thread (3/6: Staal Out Indefinitely; Not Career Threatening)

They don't disclose injuries because they don't want players on other teams targeting the injured area.

When in the past have we seen other teams target injuries? I'd like to know, because I cant remember anything of the sort. This isnt 70's hockey anymore. Teams actually care about winning instead of just beating the **** out of you.

Just saying...

So Nash had been skating on his own. To me, that leads to the belief that it wasn't a concussion. Aren't concussed guys usually shut down?

Now we just have to pray for Mac. :help:

Every concussion is different. Its perfectly feasible he has been doing some light skating and hasnt felt quite right. Not every head injury is a debilitating episode where the player needs to be shut down. Look at Powe - hes back in about a week.

I dont mind the Rangers not disclosing injuries, but I do have an issue with putting Nash in front of the media with instructions to not go into any detail about his injuries - just makes for an awkward situation.

"Im not a doctor"....well, you've seen doctors and they've told you whats wrong.

i would think if he was concussed, or if he was not playing to be safe if he possibly had a concussion he would be completely shut down. i can see him going out and testing it, skating a little and doing exercise to see if hes having syndromes, but to me him saying hes been skating on his own leads me to believe its probably his groin, or maybe the shoulder he hurt in europe, dont see how "skating on my own" leads people to concussion but since theres been no explanation thats what people are jumping too.

I had a feeling I would wake up to some good news about Nash today. Even if he is out for another week the return is in our sights as opposed to before where it could have been weeks. His "I'm not a doctor" response is a hilariously bad attempt at deflecting.

Whereas Kreider took the world by storm?

Actually, Kreider was quite physical last game, especially in the 3rd both throwing the body and swinging his stick. Actually looked like one of the very few Rangers still interested in playing.

It wasn’t something where I could look at myself and say I had that issue. That’s up for the doctors to decide.

I wonder what that could even mean? I feel like it couldn't have been a concussion based on that but who knows.

no, no, no! he hasn't been defensively responsible, regardless of the fact of his offensive upside, if you think that kid is gonna break Jonny T's lineup without paying his dues you gotta nudder thing coming!

That flashy scoring comes later. you block shots and back check or we send you down.

Jesus, enough with the cryptic responses.

What is the big deal!?

Sounds to me like its a concussion. Wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt go tonight and then is on the shelf again for 2 or 3 games. Whats extremely odd is that he was wearing a contact jersey, unless he was really a non-contact player that was purposely given a contact jersey to **** with the fans and media.

This is just stupid, tell us what his injuries are.

Good news is hes been skating on his own since last week... whatever that means.

As much as I want to know what the injuries are, it's best to keep in the organization. You don't want a Matt Cooke go after Nash's head

Kreider is singlehandedly responsible for getting us a point against ottawa. If it weren't for him we probably would've gotten shut out that game too.

He did fall into the opposing goaltender. Considering how poorly hes played, this is apparently a positive now.

Or you could say "he drove hard to the net and was tripped. If called correctly, it would have been a tripping penalty or a goal". At a minimum, his hustle and speed led to the Sens losing their best player which allowed us to get a point.

So hes been playing like Kreider. Maybe CK lost a coin flip

Kreider has been better than Miller, Boyle, and Mash at a minimum. He has drawn a few penalties. He just hasn't had the puck in scoring areas. Not sure why you are so hard on this kid.

Go Kreider!

so mad that goal got waved off... he was str8 up tripped and the puck was in the net. probably more upset about that than the blown whistle.

maybe nash had unrelated-to-concussion-headaches... and a groin injury? like the fever headaches or something
