He’s had some games with heavier than 4th line minutes, but I don’t have a clear memory of the circumstances of those games.

In general he’s been on the 4th line which I do find perplexing. IMO he should be higher in the lineup.

Brind'Amour probably isn't going to break up the Staal line any time soon nor should he. Drive it until the wheels fall off.

Not only is it getting elite bottom line results defensively, but also elite bottom line results offensively. 5v5, that line is now up to 4.41 GF/60 (Link). To put that in perspective, Landeskog - MacKinnon - Rantanen is at 3.13.

That seems like it has to be wrong somehow, doesn’t it? I mean we can look with our eyeballs and see that our 3rd line is not the best offensive line in the league. So something’s up with the stats, no?

They've played like it for about a month. 6.47 GF/60 since Feb. 1!

That line's shooting percentage is through the roof, though. It will come back down to earth at some point. In the meantime, squeeze as much out of this heater as they can.

I think Nino Kokomiami Jarvis could be a solid line to give more minutes to then run Marty party Staal Fast. Treat both as 3rd lines and give equal minutes.

Yeah, you could do that. Probably could work. Rod would never do that. You put Staal, Marty, and Fast on a line together and he may never take them off the ice.

We wouldn't, you just missed a key part of my post "23 minutes per game 5v5" The other 37 minutes would be short handed with the way refs call our games
