I'm looking for a lot with easy exit after the game. Looking to get on the 190 towards grand island/n.falls. We've parked near the arena before and it took forever to exit
thanks

Underground ramp. I always park here ... $8.00 out of the elements. Five min. walk to the arena.

Once i get back into my vehicle, it takes 10-12 mins to get out of the ramp and on the 190 or 33.

Works for me and i've been doing it for years. :dunno:

Pearl St is now a two-way street....that along with the cops directing traffic it seems that traffic is clearing out better now

Heading down again for the Sat game against your boys!

Staying at Adam's Mark this time - any recommendations for good eats around there? Was thinking 716 but do you have to reserve or just show up real early (4pm)? Went to Black Squirrel last time - any other good distilleries to recommend??

Cheers

I'd suggest you absolutely check out Lockhouse Distillery. It's within walking distance from the arena. There's a new restaurant in the casino right next door as well: The Western Door Bar & Grille. It's a high-end steakhouse.

If you're at the distillery, there are a couple of good bars to check out on the way to the arena. I'd recommend Buffalo Iron Works. They'll likely have 4-5 local beers on tap plus the other usuals.

And, yeah...I'd make reservation for 716 if you intend on eating dinner there. It's a madhouse a couple of hours before a hockey game.

Chefs, Pearl street brewery, 716, or Pizza Plant.

Check out the menus online. Plenty to choose from.

As far as 716 .., it's booked up solid by now i'm sure. You could show up at 4 ... and either wait for a table or eat at one of the 3 bars. Might be faster to eat at the bar.

Coming in for the Monday night game in early April, what's the best place for Wings within walking distance?

Thanks very much for the info.

Yeah, we were thinking of hitting Lockhouse first, then heading over to Iron Works for a bite. Do they take reservations at either place or do you just walk in?

Yeah I checked 716 and all they have are 2:45pm reservations Sat - all later tables are booked.

Where's the best place to go for wings after the game? Find Anchor too touristy, but heard good things about the Gate and Nine-Eleven.

Not sure about their hours though.

Nine eleven awesome. They sometimes have a long wait though. If that is the case you can head over to doc Sullivan's which is like a mile away. Both places are ten minutes from the arena.

Hey guys. I'm an Eastern Canadian Avalanche fan (yeah we exist) and I'm going to be in Buffalo next month. I don't need information on the city itself as I don't intend on staying long but I'm curious if someone can help me out with transportation info.

I'm staying in Niagra Falls (Canada side) but plan on making the trip to see the Bills/Broncos on Sunday, Sept 24. It's a 1PM start. I'm curious if anyone knows if there's any busses/trains/shuttles that go to and from
Niagra Falls/Buffalo. If so is there a possibility of heading to Buffalo in the morning and returning to NF that evening or do I have to spend the night? I'd prefer not to rent a car so that I can drink and am just wondering what my options are?

I have multiple stops on this vacation so I want to have everything planned in advance.

Are Uber and Lyft drivers allowed to go across the border to get you and get you to the football game?

Look into that perhaps.

Or walk across the rainbow bridge, get to the US, then call for an Uber/Lyft driver. :dunno:

Thanks guys. We don't have Uber where I live but I think i'll learn to get familiar with it as your suggestion does seem to make the most sense.

Starting this off making it clear I am a Sabres fan through and through can't stand the leafs, I am coming to this Saturday's preseason Sabres game with my brother in law (leaf fan but good guy) we cannot find anywhere to stay at a decent rate (looking for somewhere we can walk/stumble, Uber or metro rail back post game. Anyone have any under the radar recommendations for me? Everything appears to be sold out. Guys in mid/late 20s just wanna pregame and enjoy a few beers without breaking the bank. If anyone has any ideas pm me or reply would be greatly appreciated.

I always stay at the Adams Mark, walking distance to the rink and cheaper then all the other options in the vicinity. It's a little dated and has seen better days but it works just fine for your intentions. Pearl St and 716 is along your stumble to/from the arena with a lounge on site at the hotel as well.

Your cutting it pretty close for a Sabres/Leafs Saturday game and a Bills Sunday home game on the same weekend.

If you aren't planning on going out after the game, you could stay up in Amherst and take the metro-rail down from the UB Main Campus. Wyndham Garden in Williamsville is like a 10 dollar Uber ride to the train IIRC.

Yeah we had a buddy bail last second and weren't gonna go but can't wait any longer for hockey hence last minute. Normally I'll do Adams mark as well but all booked up, figured I would turn here see if anyone knew of an odd hotel or bnb that wouldn't be booked but isn't looking promising oh well on me. Thanks for replying

Maybe too late for you to see this, but:

Yeah, if you are close enough, foot traffic is allowed over the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls.

Thanks guys. We don't have Uber where I live but I think i'll learn to get familiar with it as your suggestion does seem to make the most sense.

It's an easy walk, logistically, across the Rainbow. I've done it several times, although it's a little unnerving (for me at least) to be up that high over the gorge.

I am not encouraging drinking and driving, but it's not a big deal to drive to the stadium, get there mid-late-morning, tailgate for an hour or two, go to the game, and hang for a bit afterwards while departing traffic thins. (i.e., drink only before the game, but only once you get to the parking lots)

The weather forecast is looking stellar, so there will likely be some after-game cookouts, too. The private lots allow the lingering, the Stadium lots for 2 hours (officially), and I assume the ECC (adjacent college) is 2 hours (officially) as well. I go to one game per year, and have gone with several separate groups of friends and family. We all have the same routine to stay after to eat again and let the traffic rush pass. We've always left before any Security sweeps, and there are always fans still remaining after us.

Two key points:
1) Stadium alcohol sales end at halftime.
2) Any permitted items you bring in other than in your pockets needs to be in a clear plastic bag either gallon baggie size, or no bigger than 12x12x6" (~30x30x15mm for you :)) Extra clothing must be carried loosely. (you shouldn't need it, high will be 30C).

Speaking as an Uber driver(I also drive for Lyft), after the Bills game vs. Denver I had a couple of people on board from New Era Field to Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino. For them, it cost just over $20for the ride(PLUS they gave a tip), so take that into consideration. As always, YMMV.
