Not sure how you can make that statement when he was lit up for 4 goals. I agree he was better against Russia but maybe a better performance by him wins USA the game. Yes the game was close but Demko maybe wasn't at his best. Same goes for Canada; goaltending could potentially cost them gold or even a medal. Until Canada trails in a game we don't know how that pressure will play out.

Not sure you watched that game with a statement like that... Canada dominated the US...only reason why Canada didnt put up atleast 7 or 8 goals was because of Demko.

They were good but so were and are Russia and Sweden, even Finland. I mean, that bunch of players was a tad overrated to begin with.

Good prospects, 1st rounders and so - but in the end had they been Russian players - nobody had been talking about them...

Russia was better, simple.

I wouldn't go that far. Russia's team is loaded with 19 year olds. USA is not. That's monumental in this tournament. Which USA players are overrated? Guys like Eichel, Mathews, Hanifin, and Werenski aren't overrated as prospects. Overrated as current players? Sure, but that's precisely due to being young relative to the competition.

Also I'd say I don't necessarily buy that Russia was a better team. They won the game and deserved to, but in no way does a single game in any sport determine which of two teams is better. Russia may be the better team but the fact they won doesn't make it readily apparent. USA carried the play at even strength while Russia drew penalties which they cashed in on. Both are positive things which can win you any given game.
