Don't know if you saw the game last night or not, but Sixgiev made an appearance.

5 even strength and 1 shorty against on 33 shot attempts.

He truly is the best goalie a tanking team could hope for. It's like you want to play without a goalie, but are afraid the rest of the league might catch on to what you are doing... so you dress Georgiev.

Bidding war between San Jose and Chicago this summer for Georgiev.

They know what they’re doing.

On that topic, Annunen has been better with the Preds. Improved both GAA and SV%.

I didn't remember he had such great numbers in 14 games with the Avs last year. Didn't match the eye test but TBH he got all the easy matchups.

His audition last year is what convinced management that he was ready for the backup spot this season.

I'm happy with how it turned out. Who was available last offseason? The Avs saw Blackwood and were confident he could be the guy this season but that may not have been the case last offseason, nor was he potentially even available.

I don’t know how one doesn’t look at the year in sum and think “this is the blueprint a gm should follow—maybe above and beyond it—for Win Now.” And a good number of these moves should benefit the team beyond this season, unless someone’s performance changes drastically (FFS, Casey Mittelstadt…)
