Yep - it‘s human nature to want to know what people say about you.He probably some random fan say something terrible on social media. A lot of these athletes look at that stuff and let it get to them.
Buffalo is going to make the playoffs without himI understand the emotional aspect from Buffalo fans, but the fact is, Eichel was tired playing for an organization that failed to put together a good team. 10 (6 with Eichel) straight seasons without making the playoffs. I'd want to jump ship too.
The Sabres organization has been a mess for a decade. Six different coaches, 4 different GMs. Guy is in his prime and wants to play playoff hockey, and it's not happening in Buffalo. Not the past 11 years, and not this year either. You mean the organization that gave him an immediate $80M contract at a time when the most points he ever scored was 57??? He was captain of that team. He demanded the trade after the best year of his career and they missed the playoffs by 1 spot (though it was the expanded covid playoffs). Spare me the empathy for this douche. And you know what, when he came back last year, he didn't chose to criticize the organization. he decided to piss on the fans who supported him all those years his self-entitled ass was there. That dude is toxic.
Oh yea? When?Buffalo is going to make the playoffs without him
Not playing .500 hockey they aren't... Not sure what you've been watching this season. Same shit, different season, which is why Eichel wanted out...This season?
I guess if you're OK with people who quit. I think your take is stupid. This dude quit on a fanbase that worshiped him. And then he pissed on them when he came back. Loser. The Sabres organization has been a mess for a decade. Six different coaches, 4 different GMs. Guy is in his prime and wants to play playoff hockey, and it's not happening in Buffalo. Pissed on the fans? They pissed on him first once he wanted to leave, because he wants to be apart of a winning organization, which is not Buffalo.
Again, I understand the emotional side from Sabres fans, but logically there's no blaming him.
Call it what you want, giving up on shitty ownership/management is fine by me. The fans turned on him first and he's just giving it back.I guess if you're OK with people who quit. I think "booed just for existing" is a bit of a reductive take. Eichel and the Sabres didn't exactly part on the most positive of terms, especially considering he was the captain of the team and was the top prospect in the draft outside of McDavid.
That said, I hope this feud continues. It is incredibly entertaining.
I'd love to be optimistic to the point where I can watch my team be a laughing stock for a decade and still get my hopes up when they look decent for 10 games. Not playing .500 hockey they aren't... Can you guess where Eichel will be in April?

Never thought that an empty-netter should count for that purpose.Possibly the most underwhelming hat trick ever. But good to see nonetheless.
Shows what an elite coaching can doPretty crazy that people wanted Vegas to blow it up after a down year caused because of injuries lol.
The guy is a dork. Never forget:
Jack Eichel Says He's Better Than McDavid
I’m kinda in the minority in being fine with him wanting out- I think some fans have mellowed, but obviously that’s an emotional thing for most- but it’s obnoxious how personally he took it. You wanted out, what did you think would happen? We spend hundred of dollars to wear another grown man’s name on our back, we paint our faces and make stupid chants, if he thought people would be completely rational and would see things from his perspective he’s.. not the best at social iq, apparently. The Sabres organization has been a mess for a decade.
