They are drafting &/or developing poorly
You're reading too into it. It's not drafting or developing, it is simply hiring the wrong people at the wrong jobs while having a trigger-happy finger at the same time. It's hard to find an identity when nobody has been there long enough to establish one. I don't exactly blame Terry for his firings because Adams looks like another failure based on what he's done in terms of drafting, trading, and hiring personnel like Lindsey. The Sabres weren't going to make the playoffs with or without Ruff, but a dumb hire when Keefe was on the market. Nonetheless, Pegula keeps hiring these rubbish blokes.

What is actually wrong with Buffalo? Don't want the "Adams sucks" "Lindy sucks" actual answer on why the team is so bad. They are great on paper and shouldn't bebin this situation.

They are great on paper

Demonstrates the value of being "great on paper".

Poor management and team construct means that they are not really outstanding at anything. What would you say the Sabres' strength is? Why exactly would other teams fear the Sabres?

Also seems to be a deeply-ingrained resignation to mediocrity. Utter lack of elan.

Not the players' fault as culture starts from the top down.

Ruff was hired during the Leafs-Lightning series, so Keefe wasn’t yet available as he wasn’t fired until a few weeks later.

Either way, hard to imagine Keefe would turn down the NJD job for Buffalo. Which isn’t to say that Buffalo wasn’t an attractive opening, more-so that NJD was about as close to an ideal landing spot as you can get.

The added Zucker, Mcleod, and Malenstyn...

Years ago some people were saying the core was rotten ..Those people got their wish when they moved Eichel, Reinhart, Risto, Ullmark, and O'Reilly.....

Not to mention all the coaching changes in recent years there..........

My point is that they tried everything and already exausted all those options.....Just leave it all alone now and let some continuity start to build......

Lmfao imagine touting those as adds for a team that never makes the playoffs. Surely adding Jason Zucker (who was just replacing Skinner anyway) along with a 3C and a 4th liner is what was needed to get over the hump!

Buffalo seriously needs to trade for Brady Tkachuk. You know, bring some leadership in the motherf*cker.

They need the guy who also has never made the playoffs to lead them to the playoffs?

What happened to Cozens? A couple of years ago i figured the core would be pretty solid by now.

They should just give it a couple years, the defensive core is still very young and a player like Cozens could very well rebound.

If they wanna repeat of the past they can trade away their young under performing players, only to see them thrive somewhere else. I actually have no idea who plays where so this could be way off, but something like below could be a competitive team with strong defense. If Kulich or Benson take the next step it then the offense would be good aswell.

Benson-Thompson-Tuch
Peterka-Cozens-Zucker
Kulich-Mcleod-Kane:D

Dahlin-Samuelsson
Power-Byram

Why did Kevyn Adams call an unnecessary press conference just to cry that over his tenure he was unable to draft anyone as good as Josh Allen and so that's why they suck?

He didn't.. the press conference was requested by media.

No one seems to fully know. Good players came here, they drafted great talent, and still the results did not change. They've now been forced to go the youth route. Almost every single one of their high skill players except Tuch are 25 or younger. They get easily pushed around as they don't play any semblance of a consistent physical game. They have very poor puck possession numbers because of the various unforced as well as forced turn overs. It's comical to watch them as they panic with the puck, their youthful fear on full display.
Like a rudderless ship, they smash in to the rocks game after game with 0 leadership, 0 accountability in sight.

Pegula has destroyed the franchise completely with his management hiring.

You know leadership has lost the plot (if they ever had it in the first place) when they think their best course of action is to punish their own fanbase. Insanity.

Move them to Cleveland. The Cleveland Browns… I like the sound of that
Relocate them to Baltimore just long enough for them to turn over a new leaf and transform into a badass organization, then have an expansion franchise come back to Buffalo to keep the sucking going for a few more decades.

Baltimore? It's like you specifically went out of your way to pick one of the few cities that is even worse than Buffalo.

The reasons vary but the same thing is true every year. The roster isn't good enough and isn't improving enough.

A whole forward line of young forwards have regressed or stagnated.

Cozens (now age 23) got a big contract after scoring 68p in 81 games two years ago. Is now pacing for 40
Quinn (now age 23) scored 37 in 75 two years ago and is now pacing for 16.
Peterka (now age 22) Stagnating with a pace for 50 like last year but is not playing good at all.

The hope was they would make up a competent second or at least third line but they are getting caved in every game.

Zucker and Benson are the only improvements, the rest of the team is mostly playing like last year.

I just dont understand how the roster is still so young lol its been like 10 years you'd think they would go for it with some decent vet additions or trades for their top 6/top 4.

At this point you're better off wasting some assets just to get in the playoffs honestly. This can't possibly go on , making the playoffs isn't that hard in a parity league...

To who? Name me a Buffalo based Billionaire who is interested in having a NHL franchise. There are definitely some people and groups of people who would be interested in buying a NHL franchise (though not as many as you'd think), but for most(all?) of them, moving the team from Buffalo would be their first decision.

I sympathize- have watched the Sabres from afar, and not so far since Tim Horton played for them.
