In Buffalo, it is time.

I've watched the Sabres since the early 70's. I was born 2 months after the team played it's first ever game. I was 5, in the Aud, 2 rows up with my mom and dad at the Fog Game in the 75 finals. I've been a die Hard fan my entire life. No reason to list the calamities the organization has endured during my fan tenure, they're now legendary with any Sabres fan, well, at least those that are left.

The owner Terry Pegula, ya, sell the team, it's time.

The Sabres need an expansion draft

Give their current roster to new Ownership in Houston in the summer

Get an expansion team in the summer

Pegula won't sell unless it comes to light he is a rapist, murderer, kidnapper, largely hateful rascist etc.,

He may be incompetent at owning the Sabres. But the Sabres still make money for him and he isnt harming the leagues reputation in any way so the league cant force him to sell like NBA with Donald Sterling

Buffalo is a cool, if dirty city.

I’ll never not be amused by Buffalo. It’s incredible how long they’ve gone without making the playoffs. It’s not like they’re drafting busts either

cmon now don't quit before the miracle happens!
Hire Jim Kelly as coach. That guy has pedigree.

They have an off hf type style of building a team. Who needs vets to help top picks ease their way into the league.

They are drafting &/or developing poorly

Jack Quinn is a huge disapointment for a 8th OA

Dylan Cozens is very disapointing for a 7th OA

Matt Savoie is busting/disapointing elsewhere but he was a 9th OA pick who has become a ~40 pt 3C which isnt an ideal hit for that draft slot

Kulich (28OA) , Rosen (14OA) , Ostlund (15 OA), Benson (13 OA), none have stepped up and become top 6 players with only Benson being a regular solid NHLer from that group so far

Now the main issue is likely its the Buffalo Curse lol

Eichel,
Reinhart
Risto
Kane
RoR
Montour
Mittlestadt to an extent (broke out in Sabres already)

All guys who became better or found a lot of success after leaving the Sabres. The above group may see that as well as the Sabres just have no/little luck with their prospects becoming key players WHILE on the team and not after being moved on

They're development/vibes hell. Need to start from scratch entirely. New branding, new owner, new GM.

Byram/Dahlin/Power is a very good defensive trio, just young. Don't do anything silly and trade one or let them walk.

Florida didn't win a Playoff series from the 1996-97 season through the 2020-21 season. They missed the Playoffs 10 straight seasons, which occurred over 11 years, and after a single postseason appearance missed again 3 straight seasons, then one playoff appearance followed by 3 more straight misses.

All the disappointing players would be playing better if they kept a few of the elsewhere guys to let them compete for spots and learn from players who have been in the league for a few. Hoping every pick hits is an assinine way to build a good team.

Nah. Went 2 Point/GM last year in the WHL. That's double Golden Boy Minten's production.

The Condors are an offensive black hole this year, nearly dead last in offence. Savoie's got nothing to work with down there.

Sabres have three top notch left shot D, who are all relatively young. They need to trade from this position of strength to fill in their depth. IMO Power or Dahlin would return the most while opening up cap space to accommodate that return.

I’m 45 years old. I’ve loved this franchise from the moment I first saw a hockey game sitting on my grandparent’s living room floor in Derby NY. My greatest wish is to see this city finally win one. For this region, for all the people who loved them and won’t get to see it, for all the people who would get to.

So understand the full weight of what I’m about to say about Terry Pegula’s ownership of this team for the last 14 years:

I’d rather this team move then continue to watch this cheap, loser, buffoon destroy the thing I love.

Yea most likely true.

Sabres have a lot of prospects and picks but dont really make many trades or many UFA signings any more

Buffalo used to be a pretty big UFA market in getting big/good names to come like Erhoff and Leino in early 2010s or even before that in Spacek,

Savoies busting for a 9th OA.

He cant produce at the AHL level in his D+3 year and is a hobbit sized of a player.

He has limited likelyhood of being a strong NHL player. That isnt b/c he is an Oiler. The trade at the time looked like a fleece from the Oilers, but Savoie has not progressed at all.

He should be an everyday NHLer by now. Him struggling is his own issues. He ismt a projectable NHl player

Leafs have their own Savoie in Nick Robertson who dominated the OHL in his D+1, has been great in the AHL level but sucks/cant produce at the NHL level.

He was drafted in 2022. It's 2024. Playing for one of the worst offences in the AHL.
It's been 20 games since that trade has been called fleece. No he shouldn't be an everyday NHLer by now, development is not linear. I'm not saying he's a sure bet or anything, but to call Savoie a bust at this point makes no sense.
