Thankfully Borgen and Vaak look more like Gustafsson and Mikkola, than Nemeth & Braun. Lindgren even has looked playable. Still hate him with Fox but the d is much better

Ryan Lindgren has been our worst defenseman by a f***ing country mile during this run.

Since the Chicago game (where this run began) -

Chicago - 6th out of 6
Dallas - 6th out of 6
NJD -6th out of 6
Vegas - 5th out of 6th (Borgen slightly behind.)
Colorado - 2nd out of 6th (this was a good game in what for him was a really tough matchup. f***ed up on the GTG but that doesn't make it a bad game.)
Arizona - 6th out of 6 (sub 10% in this game!)
CBJ - 5th out of 6 (Vaak 6th)
Montreal - 4th out of 6 (Vaak Schneider worse)
Ottawa - 2nd out of 6 (Fox #1)

9 games - 4 of which where he's been last, 2 2nd worst, 1 4th and 2 in the top 2.

Fox has been 4th or better in all but 2 of those games.

Tonight was a good night for him but overall? Thats the opposite of playable.

Edit: Clarifying that this is his rank amongst the D in xGF%.

A typical Kakko game would be posting zeros across the board in a 5-0 win (yes, I know he's not here...that's the joke).

Not trying to crap on Kakko either because he'd still post zeros across the board in an 0-5 loss (including +/-).
You know he got 13 points in 15 games in seattle, right ?

Rangers fans acting like Kakko is Tanner Glass or something.

Literally no one thinks he's Tanner Glass. But he was a solid third liner who has been super inconsistent scoring in this league. The melodromatic posts about how this is worst trade in history is so friggin overblown and is the reason why some people are saying "pump the breaks". Literally no one ever thought he was Tanner Glass, that's in your head.

Since the Trouba trade, the Rangers are just a smidge below positive in xGF%.

Since the New Year, when Borgen started cooking, they're at 51.8%.

Nobody said it would be a Stanley Cup button, but getting one of the worst regular defensemen in the league out of the lineup had a notable effect for the positive on our performance.

January 21st, 2025: Machinehead was right about something.
Now upgrade Lindgren and we could really have something
