One of the most memorable goals of my life was in the first season that I watched 2000-2001. I don't remember the team we played or the score but we won the game big. Sandy McCarthy came out of the penalty box and got a pass and scored forehand backhand on a beautiful goal. Rempe goal was a bit different but did remind me of that a bit.

Since the Trouba trade, the Rangers are just a smidge below positive in xGF%.

Since the New Year, when Borgen started cooking, they're at 51.8%.

Nobody said it would be a Stanley Cup button, but getting one of the worst regular defensemen in the league out of the lineup had a notable effect for the positive on our performance.

Honestly? This is really not me being hard on Igor but is he really better than Sorokin? I think they're similar. Igor is maybe better at his best but I think Sorokin is more consistent.

Sorokin has a .902 save percentage this year after rocking a .909 last year.

I get that the Isles suck at almost everything but the Rangers haven't exactly been a defensive powerhouse the last 2 years either.

I don't even need to bring up their playoff resumes.

Imagine what they'll look like if they actually commit to moving Lindgren

Guys, realize we're a totally different team than we were when we sucked not that long ago. Rempe is the straw that stirs the drink but its much deeper than that. Our defense is overhauled. The Trouba trade was great and the Kakko for Borgen trade ditto. We're f***ing back. Were getting a f***ing playoff spot. Carrick also a spark. Sleep well tonight.
Dare I say we’re going all the way?

That game was exactly what I want out of Rempe.

Forget the goal, that comes and goes.

He had every opportunity to do something stupid (and I told him to, that's just heat of the moment) and instead he calmed shit down and we ended up drawing penalties.

He jawed when he had the chance and he stepped up when it went down but he stayed out of trouble.

If he can do that, he's an NHL player. I've always said it.
just remember who clued you and everybody else here to have faith in the kid

bite me, naysayers, bite me

Not saying Borgen is better than Kakko but we needed a steady but unspectacular defenseman more than a middle 6 good forechecking wing.

Honestly, we should be on a 9 game winning streak. We gave away each and every one of those damn OT losses. Also, this is why 3 on 3 is such BS. Last year we were randomly dominant in it even though we've sucked every other year and it carried us to a Presidents' Trophy.

Not old-timey enough for you bern.

Was expecting more of a "I bite my thumb at you wretched heathens! Be gone with you all!"

Nice tuck tonight, but he still sucks.
yeah no

there is no pleasing some people
well eye test says bern is right, bite me

and if they do as I say and actually play him, continue to accept growing pains but making progress, we will have a useful, nay valuable, cog going forward

Such a boring game until the goals started trickling in. I was surprised at the lack of pace the Sens played with. Apparently that defensive scheme is their new look under Green, but they need first rate goaltending if they want to win games with that approach.
This was Sens 3rd game in 4 nights.

not to mention the boatload of money we got rid of with Trouba's contract. Also Vaakanainen is not a terrible depth dman.
