Rumor: Images of a possible third jersey posted on Reddit four months ago.

The top comment on the reddit post you made doesn't look half bad, but they really should just bring back the original laurel jersey at this point

This jersey would honestly be competely fine if they just took off that shoulder thing.

I like that red concept as well. Everybody who makes jersey concepts has "come up" with that same concept. It's probably the most obvious and asked for Sens jersey design that I see.

I didn't make the Reddit post.

Here is a concept someone made a few months ago that is almost exactly the same as the one in the leaked image.

It really goes to show you how the black forearms could tie everything together.

There is that same concept with the yokes removed.

I know that the striping is not exactly the same, but it goes to show you how removing the shoulder yokes and adding the forearms really makes it look like a Sens jersey. This concept has white numbers, which also makes a difference, but otherwise the creators original concept was very close.

Tell your guy to drop an anonymous note under Michael Andlauer's door urging him to remove the black shoulder yokes and give it black forearms.
lol, this thing was locked in around the time the season started, at least for significant changes.

Believe me when I say this, this was by far the best option vs what was being thrown out initially.

oooof.

I am going to hold judgment until I see it in person, but it is a big disappointment.

I get wanting to do something entirely different and not go back to one of the older designs that everybody pitches, but they could still incorporate design elements that make it look like a Senators jersey. We have never used gold and black without white - and we have always had coloured forearms on all of our jerseys, even technically the Reebok jerseys had them in their (modern for 2006) way. It's only the recent away jersey that got away from that.

I wonder if there is a push for this to become our home jersey eventually with a matching away. I don't see the point of using the same crest on the alt jersey, especially since we just got the Reverse Retro last year with the same one. From a marketing POV, it is a tough sell, even if the crest has slight alterations.

I am at least grateful that someone talked Andlauer out of using the Fleur Dis Lis as the shoulder crest. (That's a joke).

Doesn’t look as bad on this rendering but yeah the bbc (big black chunky) shoulder pads aren’t great.

@frightenedinmatenum2 Get some black forearms on this bad boy

I will never understand the reticence of the team to embrace a longstanding design element that turns any jersey concept instantly into a "Senators jersey".

There it is with the shoulder yokes removed.

Tell me that is not a near perfect Senators jersey within the confines of what they apparently wanted to go for? (Not saying it's the best design, but it's the best version of their idea.) Add white numbers. The only thing it needs is white numbers or some sort of very minor white accents - but it's basically the same concept they had with two tweaks and to me it looks 100x better. It fits the historical design of Senators jerseys, without being lazy and completely rehashing our past designs.

This is the only nice one posted so far.

That design is probably the most popular idea for a Senators jersey concept since the black jerseys were taken off the table by being brought back.

Every single person who makes jersey concepts has made one of those. Maybe with slight variations.

That would have been the easiest home run to hit, but I get it if they don't want to rehash old designs.

The fact that they are using our primary as the crest makes me wonder that this might not be a third jersey, and might be a soft rebrand. It is not very common for teams to use their primary crest on an alternate jersey without there being a major design change (see Dallas having it in a neon two-tone). I get that they added the brush strokes, but that's more of a minor detail.

Well I’d still prefer the nicer one, over all the poor ones in this thread.

These were logos used in a marketing study during the Melnyk era (2017ish if I recall). This might be an acid flashback, but I remember it coming out that the 3D logo actually was most preferred. Which seems to be contrary to most of what is stated online on Sens "social media", but it's also possible we are an echo chamber.

The O with the details looks like something Fanatics would do. Like how they added the extra details to the crest on the leaked jersey, if you look at any of the actual on ice versions of the jerseys that Fanatics had a part in designing, they incorporate a lot of details that from a distance are mostly superficial but look great up close. I assume that is why they added the elements to the 2D logo. If you ever see the 4NF Authentic Pro jerseys up close, you will know what I mean.
