Who the f*** is Trevor Moore?
I guess the NHL Rulebook's more of a suggestion anyways, right?
It's a common illegal play in NFL football.

I think its quite the stretch to say that hockey is dirtier today than it was in the 80s.Hockey is a dirty game. People have been saying it will get more dirty since they put the fight instigator rule in - and they were right.
No. People just lack nuance nowadays. Stone and his team play dirty with the LTIR rules therefore Stone is a dirty player.Reading some of these posts.. does Mark Stone have a reputation as a dirty player and I've somehow never heard about it?
It's tricky. Back then being dirty was a more acceptable way of playing physical so even if the cheap shots were probably worse, more egregious and did more damage, they weren't seen as dirty like they are today.I think its quite the stretch to say that hockey is dirtier today than it was in the 80s.
Yeah that's fair enough. Just off the top of my head I can picture Messier elbowing players with impunity, Hextall 2 handing players who came through his crease, and Dale Hunter taking out......Turgeon? Muller? well after he had finished scoring a goal. And that's just majorly egregious things. Doesn't even begin to get into all the little things that were just 'normal' parts of the game back then that would be criticized now. It's tricky. That’s what makes this an unfortunate play. You can’t find fault in a player giving 110% on defense.I agree he's lunging at the puck but it's the sort of thing where it's a risky and dangerous play. There are lots of times where you can go after the puck but it puts others at chance of injury. Of course any play presents some kind of risk of injury but some are more so than others and the likelihood of Stone making a good play on the puck there is very low.
Giggling at what? Is there proof that he was laughing at Heiskanen getting hurt? Or is it possible people are making large assumptions?I'm sure there are a few reasons why Mr. LTIR himself has irked fans around the league over the years.
But yeah, that shot of him giggling on the bench after the play last night? Not going to sit well with too many Stars fans, I reckon.
He probably wasn't, but still, it was funny. The slow upturning of the lips into an evil grin. It looked comically villainous (I'm not saying anything about him, just the visual was amusing).Giggling at what? Is there proof that he was laughing at Heiskanen getting hurt? Or is it possible people are making large assumptions?
Ya… I’m gonna fault him. It was a reckless play where the chance of injuring the player is a lot higher because you’re doing a superman dive around their kneesThat’s what makes this an unfortunate play. You can’t find fault in a player giving 110% on defense.

Yikes.Ya… I’m gonna fault him. It was a reckless play where the chance of injuring the player is a lot higher because you’re doing a superman dive around their knees
Yeah that was a weird moment.Teeheehee look at his leg bend.
I guess I should have worded it differently. I don't feel it is dirtier today, but I certainly feel that there are some elements of the game that are dirtier, based largely on the fact that players aren't expected to answer the bell if they do something dirty, so there is less deterrent. Maybe we just see it more because the dirty plays are deemed so much worse now than they were then.I think its quite the stretch to say that hockey is dirtier today than it was in the 80s.
I'm surprised you didn't say he "Supergirl" dove into Heiskanen's knee.....Hintz taps his skate but that doesn’t explain the Superman dive into Heiskanen’s knee.
I’ve watched a lot of hockey and I can’t recall ever seeing a player “fall” into someone’s legs in quite this manner. Falling down doesn’t look like this. What he did was closer to a leap than a trip, and it’s very very hard not to see intent in that replay.
I’m not really sure how you adequately punish something like this. This has potential to devastate a team and change outcomes for an entire conference playoff bracket. What’s the most Stone can possibly get here, maybe 2 or 3 games off? It’s one of those things where you just have to swallow the bitter pill that bad people get away with bad things in this sport.
I absolutely don't think Stone was trying to injure anyone. In fact, I doubt any player actually tries to injure anyone (perhaps years ago it was different). That's where I think about "intent to injure" does any professional hockey player actually have an "intent to injure" someone these days? I know there are a lot of dirty players, but even those guys, a lot of the time they are looking to hurt a guy, but not to the extent of injuring them so they can't play....problem is that make dangerous plays that can result in that.I dunno man, real unfortunate outcome but I just don't think Stone is diving at Heiskanen's knee to injure him. He does get a little tripped up and was trying to make a play on the puck. I know this place loves to get all red in the face and babyrage screechy anytime Mark Stone's name gets mentioned but there's quite a difference in playing fool the LTIR and missile locking your helmet into a dude's knee.
Tough luck for Miro, hopefully not out too long.
Ummm.....what?I'm starting to think sports would be better off if there were no cameras at all, just radio/audio streaming.
Lol. A tongue in cheek response to the non-stop threads about, 'how is that not offside?' or 'how is this a legit goal but this isn't?' or 'if you completely slow down this replay and freeze it just as player X makes contact you can see there is 100% malicious intent in his eyes!' It's a fast game, players and refs are human. Mistakes will be made. It's a game. Get over it...etc etcUmmm.....what?

When stone retires, his entire career is going to be defined by all the controversial garbage he allowed himself to be a part of. Shame, he’s a good player, but this is what he’ll forever he known for (outside of Vegas fans, who think he’s perfect in every way).I don't think Stone was trying to take out Heiskanen's knee. I DO think Stone is a the kind of guy who would be careless with the health and safety of opposing players. The skate tap was enough to unbalance him to the point where he realized he could throw himself at Heiskanen and face no repercussions for a bad outcome, so that's what he did. Whether or not this could have an impact on Heiskanen's career never even crossed his mind.
