IIHF WOMANS UNDER 18 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Man do I hate that hit.. especially when you consider these are 120 poiund teenage girls. 5 and a game.
 
Game half over and 2-0 is damn good for us....

What is frustrating?

We've been given a lot of PP time and haven't scored. I absolutely have nothing to complain about but the score and how well the US ladies are playing.lol
 
It's been a nice period.. hoping US doesn't score to go up 3-0.. give us a punchers chance in third. Czechs have been quite even in this period IMO. Obviously a 5 minute major helps.

2 min PP coming up...

Good news - 'should' prevent that third goal in this period
Bad news - our PP is not very good.

Have missed most of the game so far but happy to see the Czechs have fought off the Americans momentum to keep the game from getting out of hand and are about to make this 3rd period extremely interesting. There's never been a Gold Medal winner in IIHF women's hockey history that wasn't the USA or Canada. Finland should have won in 2019 but somebody made an extremely bad call to take that away. This game is still up for grabs. If the Czechs can find a way to get Adela open for a shot with a screen it's going to be tied up. Or get Plosova to use her speed to create something. This period is all about who has the most gas left.

3-1. I don't like our chances at all now. 2 goals in 15 minutes is a tough ask.
 
Plosova is a big girl.. when she busts down the wing it feels threatening...
 
Congrats US ladies... and congrats US in general.

Won the U20 and the U18 ladies within a few weeks.

I read that our goal in the semis was our first ever goal in a semi. This is our first ever final and we got a goal here too. It's something to build on. While I don't think we will be a juggernaut at the U18 level anytime soon, hopefully we can graduate a few ladies that are very good and can play from 20 to 30 and represent! Our goalie, Plosova and Sapo come to mind here for instance.

Kudos to the Czechs on another great junior tournament. Was always gonna be a big ask to take down the two top nations in consecutive games, but they kept it close for a while.
