Igor has been good, scoring is up this year and a lot of good goalies have bad numbers

You're delusional if you think he's been good. As much as I agree with you that Georgiev is a cancer if he had the season Igor has had you'd say he's trash. I hate that I turned a dominant performance into bashing Igor. Bottom line is he needs to do it consistently but this was a great game.

Agreeing with this 100%. Igor had a great game but lets not forget that about 2 months back he was carrying some of the worst numbers amongst all the goalies in the league. I'm not questioning his best - his best is WC, BUT his worst is shyte. It's the variance that needs to be reduced.

Trying to figure out Igor is absolutely killing my fantasy teams this season.

Often he is Mr. Hyde and single-handedly sinks my whole week with his .700-something SV% starts.

As soon as I try to get cute and bench him, he is Dr. Jekyll and stonewalls the s*** out of the opponent.

Migraine.

0 losses in a month coming off a stretch where a portion of the fanbase (hand up) was ready to hand the keys to Quickie until Igor got his game back. We were spoiled by Hank and I think we judge Igor harshly because of it. Great player, great goalie. Win us a Cup and earn that big extension, Comrade.

The turnaround on his SV% is mad! He was wallowing in the low .800s just 8 or so weeks ago if I recall correctly. I guess consistency isn’t a Rongos thing, the dizzying highs come with a shit-ton of sickening lows….

Igor's ceiling is as high as Lundqvist's. The problem is his floor and not so much the floor even but how long he lasts at that level.

He was probably in the low 0.800s for January not the entire season. I think his save % jumped from just under 0.900 to 0.911 I believe he's at now. So like 1%.

Yes, that’s what I meant - during his slump he had the worst goalie stats in the league according to one “cut” of the previous 8 weeks or so.

Prior to that he’d been low .900s

With the way we've been allowed all types of shots on our goalies lately, I'm sure this is them in the locker room.

Are we back to hanging Igor again because he let a tough one in on a zinger that changed directions on him off of Trouba's foot?

There is literally no chance we're ever raising a cup with this guy in net. I don't care how good the analytics will be and how happy @Machinehead he WILL lose the game for us. The dude needs to go be an accountant or something. He can't handle a high pressure job. This is not the career for him.

But he is excellent at blaming teammates and opponents for bad goals. Have to give him that.

There was a tv timeout the next whistle. Shesty and Trouba hugged it out. Nothing burger.

Shesterkin was easily the best player on the ice in the series against the Devils last year. He was outright dominant. It's not his fault the rest of the team didn't show up in 3 of the 7 games. He didn't let in any softies either.

He has already been exemplary in the playoffs two years in a row.

He's certainly struggled this year, but he's a guy who has shown he's a playoff performer.

In every series so far, he has given the Rangers a chance to win and been a difference maker. The only series where he struggled was his first one against the penguins, and even then, it was just the first few games.

In the two playoff series he's lost - one against the lightning and one against the devils - Shesterkin was our best player by a very wide margin.

By all means, criticize the softie he let in, but give him credit where it's due.
