11.5 is really making you guys shook, eh? Not going to blame Igor for getting what he think he's worth. Trouba was getting paid just 1 mil under Makar, lol.

It's really difficult to hold him accountable with the chances he's had to face. Not only do you ignore the experts calling the game, but you ignore common sense as well. The chances we give up are insane. Literally insane. Every goal in your eyes is a softy, but like I mentioned before, if we were scoring the same kind of goals you'd be head over heels with how great the play was.

Last year, we got by on our PP and this year the teams have watched the tape and the team in front of him are so far checked out that I don't think I've seen a team that's hung their goalie out to dry like the Rangers have.

In the end, Igor chose the money and where he wants to play. Management decided they didn't want a full rebuild (what's new) and will just keep running it back. Igor could've made more than what he's making now elsewhere, but decided to stay. Unfortunately for him, he's got a team so shit in front of him that he can't possibly fathom winning anything for this team.

11.5 doesn't guarantee you f***ing miracles. I guarantees you a shot at going deep in the playoffs, but you gotta' meet the goalie halfway there. This team can't f***ing score and they can't f***ing play defense. How many odd man rushes against does it take for you to realize that this kind of play is unsustainable for any team, let alone any goalie.

I mean this is complete conjecture. Tough to see how he isn't overpaid. What is the justification for Igor getting almost 50% more than Saros?

How is him getting overpaid his fault? Management could've let him walk, but they didn't. They know exactly the team in front of him. Igor certainly wasn't going to low ball himself knowing that with a team in front of him that can play average defense, score more than 2/3 goals a game, and not get caved in in the first 10 mins that he could give them a fighting chance.

I can't look at what this team is and blame Igor for not being a miracle worker even though you guys seem to compare what he's getting paid to the miracles he's supposed to somehow shit out game in and game out. This is exactly the Hank situation. Exactly. People here turned on him too.

It’s not his fault. And I don’t blame him personally for taking the money. But the reality of the NHL’s hard cap is that he now has a target on his back. Being good isn’t enough, you have to be good relative to expectations and your cap hit. And Igor made the decision to sign up for massive expectations.

When you give up 5 and get pulled midgame, I don't care if you face a breakaway every shift. He's a rich man's Georgiev that will be an anchor on this team for the entirety of his contract.

The third goal he gave up today was a terrible goal but all they talked about was complaints that the rangers gave up a shot like the team is expected to never allow any shots. Other four weren’t on him

There are only 3 other teams that give up more shots than we do and they're all sub .500. Right where we're going to be here in a few games.

Is this not true of every goal over a large sample size? I mean, some are slightly better at it, but isn’t this the main argument for not paying a goalie so much? The point of the game is to not allow HDC while trying to generate HDC of your own.

Reading the box score vs laying eye balls on the type of goals that went in. A couple of those like 2 on 1 or the Kempe goal he's got zero chance. Even the Danault one was a second chance goal with the forward untouched and open.

I also think that Igor is trying to do too much right which leads him to be overly aggressive or he's second guessing his defense and not aggressive enough leading to the top of the net being open. He's in-between because our defense is unreliable.

If Igor paced the first month of the season and put up a sub 2.20 GAA with .920% than no one bats an eye at his Salary. But even when he's playing lights out the Dam is going to break with the quality chances that this team is giving up.

In summary, it's not all of Igor's fault like people want to jump on with his new contract but he is not completely blameless. He's let in some bad goals the last month.

An 11.5M goalie should stop a few of those. Honestly if it were 3-0 instead of 5-0 whatever this team sucks. 5-0 is f***ing inexcusable.

Hate him. Loath him actually. Should never build from the net out but this guy must literally taste his own shit from the toilet bowl to be so in love with himself that he actually thought he was WITHOUT CONTEST the absolute best goalie in the entire league. Take a hike.

Big decision coming up before the full NTC kicks in this summer. Maybe call up Garand and let him backup Shesterkin the rest of the season to see what they have in him. If he excels, maybe trade Shesterkin?
