If you were in the NHL would you read HFBoards daily?

If I was a coach I'd post between periods and ask what people think I should do for a laugh, then read the players GDT comments as motivation to do better.

Oh man or as a GM, get some other GMs to make unofficial accounts with me and post trades we're about to actually do, only to have them mocked by fans of both teams for 15 pages.

I might check it out after I'd had a really good game or made some highlight reel goals or something for the ego boost. Also might pop into whatever opposing team's forum to get quick tips on their players' weaknesses before games.

Other than that, hell no.

If hf posters are doing a better job of spotting weaknesses then your teams advance scouts and your coach teaching based on this your team is probally at the bottom of the league with my leafs or the oilers.

No I'd have better things to do. Even if I had a bunch of spare time I wouldn't read this forum

How many better things would you have to do stuck in a hotel room after curfew or during a long flight?

Athletes are people and people like to dick around on the Internet.

God no......I read it for its humour and irrational opinions............comedy gold on here.......

Some stuff is just frigging hilarious on here we are not giving some of the excellent posters here their due.

I wouldn't be checking it on a daily basis for sure but some of the GIF's and photoshops that are posted on the boards have to be dug up by the players.

Raptor Jesus originated here...Mike Richards is cannon....Years and years of hilarious Olli Jokinen material.

Not to mention some of the absolutely beautiful and hilarious GDT's made on the individual team forums....especially Habs and Sharks....wow.

The players would be doing themselves a disservice not looking up this stuff.

Definite Hell no...
I'd fool around on twitter/instagram but thats about it. I'd never come here. Between practice/training, traveling and team functions, i'd want to get away from the game any chance i got. Last place i'd spend my time is on here.

Nah I don't like being judged on just my past 3 months of work alone (i.e. the what have you done for me lately effect, out of sight out of mind, etc.).

Believe it or not there is actually a lot of quality hockey talk and quality posters on this site, you just have to know where to find the right threads and avoid the garbage posters. The worst places are usually the main boards. There are a lot of intelligent Leaf posters that tend to stick only to the Leaf section. A lot of good reads in our some of threads.

Same thing I would do:handclap:

Having been dedicated to the sport growing up I probably would have been too busy to even start. Knowing what I know now though, you know it!

From a player's perspective, I'd stay away. Too much armchair GMs around here wanting to treat players like they are slaves.

From a coach's perspective, pointless. Unless you're Babcock and have a superiority complex. And even then.

From a GM perspective. Yes, I'd come in from time to time for the LOLz.

I would come when I have a bad stretch just to post a poll of me against a better leafs player, that I would obviously win...

Not likely but I would think I would probably still be one of these that does read it regularly and probably even participate in conversations.

That's actually what I kinda mean. Like, after a game, the last thing I would want to read is more about hockey. Especially potentially hostile comments. I'd much rather spend time on something else. Like, watching hockey is a pastime for us. Hence why we're on these forums. I'm sure hockey players would be more interested in researching their hobbies than reading about themselves

If I was a coach or GM I would. It's an unlimited source of great ideas from people who know so much more about the sport than anyone that's actually running a team.
