The discussion would begin and end with Kent Johnson.

I would love Dylan Larkin as he would fit with a core of Werenski and Laine, but I think the Jackets need to see what they have first in Johnson, Sillinger, etc. Also he's a UFA next summer so that's a huge gamble for whatever team would be acquiring him.
Obviously. Bare minimum, really. And I don't think there's any appetite here for that to happen. But still. :)

Again the Flames have a pretty deep pool. I think any prospect other than Wolf would be included. But no team is trading the next Saros.
The amount of times goalie prospects have looked great before the NHL and flamed out (no pun intended)

Detroit would need a potential 1C already in the NHL. Even then, it makes more sense to keep your 1C captain. I’d want something like Lundell + if we did trade him
I mean I get it makes no sense to trade him and open up a hole at C... but it also makes no sense to trade a guy who is *potentially* Larkin's equal AND on an ELC.

Those things matter.

There is basically no offer that is going to move the needle for Detroit, cause their biggest need is another Larkin. Detroit has zero top 6 centers or strong top 6 center prospects throughout the entire organization. You don’t trade away another 5-7 years of a 70+ point two-way center for futures. That doesn’t even touch on the fact that Larkin is the captain and a Michigan boy. Or how bad it would look to fans to essentially be starting the rebuild over at square one, cause that’s what you’d be doing by trading Larkin.

Unless that other plus is Marco Rossi, The answer is hell no.
I understand why you would ask for that and why value wise it would be necessary to you, but Rossi would have to be off the table in this scenario. The Wild would need an ELC center on the roster to come close to being cap compliant and this offer would contain the only two of those that they have. The Wild essentially couldn’t ice a team in the following two years without Rossi, and this proposal also includes their only player that would have the trade value to acquire a replacement center ELC, in Fiala. D prospects, picks and other roster players would be available (not Boldy)

From CBJ I'd be comfortable sending Roslovic + 2 1st round picks (your choice, both 1sts in 2022 or one each in 2022 and 2023). Or we could just do a swap for Kent Johnson. I totally get it that the Wings wouldn't want to go there. They're probably best off just caving to Larkin and paying him. But if by chance they can't get him to sign, I think the Jackets have the assets to make the best offer.

One team would be trading their 25 year old in his prime to try and punt the talent later, the other would be trading their 20 year old to win now. I wouldn’t even do that trade if I was Detroit, but that’s the only thing that would make any sense at all
