I am half serious half joking but it is well known that I was heavily criticized for not putting much weight behind the regular season success. If they lose tomorrow; I may consider taking drastic action to separate myself from this team and no I will not become a leafs fan. My first thought is to take a year off from watching and going to games.
How about the rest of you?

Id be dissapointed but it won't be like the last few years where they mailed it in after their first win to stink out the joint in 4 straight to get bounced.
.

The team has pushed back this series and have carried the play for the most part.

I'd be thinking long and hard what to do about Helle in the summer and I'd be looking to build a second line around Perfetti, looking to bring in a good RD with size to playbwith JoMo, and looking to revamp how we approach our bottom 6.

I agree with them not mailing it in except in the third yesterday but I might need a year off while they retool and trading Helly might be necessary even with how crazy it sounds.
Imagine if Jmo played with Parayko or someone like him.

@OP, I think I will be sad but I will come to terms (at some point) that we weren’t good enough to win the series and didn’t deserve to win.

But, it’s a hypothetical right now. It’s something we can discuss after the fact. We don’t know the outcome right now. So why?

Similar hypothetical questions that may warrant a new thread:

If we win tomorrow how will you respond?

If we make the playoffs next year and win a series next year how will you respond?

If we make it to the cup final in 2028 but lose in the cup final game 7 how will you respond?

If they win I will watch series 2 with great trepidation.
This year, winning the PT , left me with great expectations. I tried to temper them but a first round flame out is something that may affect me differently than ever before and I followed Jets 1.0 religiously and have dragged my family into the Jet 2.0 cult. I know it is only sports but watching the last 3 games in St.lou and knowing it was over midway thru period 2 has taken its toll on me as a fan when life is short and there are other things to do than rely on people I don't know to win a cup for a city that may care more than a good portion of the players.

Not the least bit surprised. The Jets are a paper tiger, and they are not built for the playoffs. Unfortunately, the 2017-19 Jets were, especially with bigger players like Byfuglien. Our players are getting targeted, and there is little pushback. Our defense is terrible.

Hellebuyck will go down as the worst playoff goalie in the history of the sport. The Blues have figured out that Helle's weakness is to have players in front of the net screening him, and the Jets D has done absolutely nothing to counter this. Even so, great goalies find a way to persevere. There is zero chance we ever advance to the Conference Finals again, let alone win more than one round.

I will remember back to the day when we were 15 seconds away from meeting the Wild instead of the Blues and wonder what if.

Then I will look at the Jets prospect pool…and panic a little.

Then I’ll start looking at the draft eligible prospects, a glint of hope will return, and the cycle will begin again for another year.

Honestly it will take the enjoyment for me out of anything they accomplish next regular season, even if just a little. There will be no "this isn't last year's team" to lean on like we had this season.

If we lose:

My Leafs fan colleague is going to be insufferable on Monday. No way I can watch live because I have to be up at 6, watch him spoil the outcome for me either way.

Might cancel my NHL.tv sub, might not, depending on how much more playoff hockey I feel like watching.

My Whiteout tshirt will arrive anyway and I'll wear it throughout summer and see how many travelling Jets fans strike up a conversation. I'll go home and do the same with the Jets hoodie that I managed to find for 10€. If I get a new job this might even be the year I bring my jerseys to Europe from NZ.

I'll show vague interest in the draft then soon enough it'll be next season and I'll go mostly back to scoreboard watching until next playoffs, if we're back again.

I will never watch them again, I will call for the heads of everyone and to blow up everything and trade everyone.

Then the next few days will roll around and I will pretend like I never said any of that and cheer them on as per usual, same thing I do every year.

I'm used to heartbreak, especially with the Jets and Bombers choking in the last 3 years. Probably just leave the team the way it is. and make some minor adjustments in the offseason. Be sure to sign Samberg.

Love this response ! How do they like hockey in NZ?

Turn off the TV and go about my life as normal.
How can you just do that after being so invested all year? I will go thru anger, denial and eventually acceptance that at least there is NHL hockey here and the made the playoffs, which is what TN wants fans to accept.

Be really angry/disappointed for a while, be concerned about Helle for next year's playoffs, then in September get excited for another season!

usually when Jets season ends im sad about it for a few days…

this is going to sting more… a bit longer

For the players thats going to hurt pretty bad.

So they should lay it out on the line …

100% Scheifele is playing
hoping its the full line up
first time in months
