Man the pressures in Helly must be enermous….

How do we help him? He is good we know that, because his records since college speaks for itself.
But the last 2 playoffs he is way off specially on road games.

Wish we can cheer him and see the fans supports him. He is going to need it.

They win as a team but the focus is on him by all… Last line of defense and the expectation.

Lets go Helly!!!!
GO JETS GO

Not the least bit surprised. The Jets are a paper tiger, and they are not built for the playoffs. Unfortunately, the 2017-19 Jets were, especially with bigger players like Byfuglien. Our players are getting targeted, and there is little pushback. Our defense is terrible.

Hellebuyck will go down as the worst playoff goalie in the history of the sport. The Blues have figured out that Helle's weakness is to have players in front of the net screening him, and the Jets D has done absolutely nothing to counter this. Even so, great goalies find a way to persevere. There is zero chance we ever advance to the Conference Finals again, let alone win more than one round.
Will you change your handle in accordance?

How can you just do that after being so invested all year? I will go thru anger, denial and eventually acceptance that at least there is NHL hockey here and the made the playoffs, which is what TN wants fans to accept.

That's easy, I don't get so invested in Professional sports that a bad result would impact my mood. I save that for the English national soccer team.

If they lose I will continue to be a huge fan but one that points out fundamental issues that give me pause. And then I will be insulted and attacked by people who wear jets coloured glasses.

On a serious note if jets lose I will maintain chevy has got to go. He won’t go though. Which means any fan discontent, lower ticket sales etc lands on chipmans desk and he cannot (though he will) ever blame the fans again.

If they lose, I will continue a slightly more mundane existence:

- mutter incoherently when out of earshot of my spouse, children, coworkers; this will take a couple of days to subside.
- I will cease to destroy Shakespearean sonnets, St. Crispin's speeches, etc eg, bending them to my will
- similarly, put my limerick factory back on the shelf
- plant my legions of tiny tomato plants into their summer digs
- try to get my '46 Pontiac to start without supernatural intervention
- get back to long-exposure imaging of galaxies in virgo and leo (galaxy season is almost done; Markarian's chain awaits)
- watch the rest of the best hockey series
- socialize with a sunny disposition when called upon
- get caught up on work? :)

If they win:

- scrub all of the above.

Exactly. It's true I'm a more casual fan than most of you, but these guys already get some of my time and money, and I enjoy they emotional rollercoaster while we're on it. But they'd have to pay me before I start letting it impact my mood beyond what's reasonable.

Not to speak for them, but to be fair to their post… they didn’t say they’d stop being a Jets fan ! 😆

I’m sure there is someone named Leafs4lyfe* who knows the leafs will be bounced every year if they make the playoffs but continues to fan over their team
Or some fan of Bradford city AFC waiting eternally for their premier league ascension and ensuing title lol

Being a fan “4 life” does not mean one can’t be dismayed or be pessimistic or have moments of strong criticism with their team

*(note how both words are spelled incorrectly)

Come on guys, no need to spread premature negativity 😀 we have looked great at home, and looks like we will have a full lineup today! We got this!

If we win, Dallas is also the team I wanted. Avs would have had the upper hand after last year. Playoffs are a mental game. Let's go grab the series, this is our chance!

I am half serious half joking but it is well known that I was heavily criticized for not putting much weight behind the regular season success. If they lose tomorrow; I may consider taking drastic action to separate myself from this team and no I will not become a leafs fan. My first thought is to take a year off from watching and going to games.
How about the rest of you?
Take a shit and go to bed. 4am comes early...

1. Won’t sleep well tonight
2. Cancel cable subscription as they just jacked the price
3. Check out UFA goalies/ trades for one that we can overpay to back up Helle and are confident enough to play 30 games and take over in playoffs next year when this happens again
4. Go to driving range after work tomorrow and murder a bucket of balls in anger
5. Accept it
