Whats with the Rantanen hate?
Can't we just be excited about all of the young talent entering the league?

That's just wrong. Selanne was always pretty dependent on his linemates production. He never was able to really reach his potential and his career took a total nosedive after the knee problems. Selanne was just one of those "what if" players who never reached star status, just like Saku Koivu and Jari Kurri. One of the best on their respective teams, sure. In the discussion to be the among the best in the league, not even once during their careers.

Why do you do this? Are you not aware of the Mulletman? The point is not the engage him in argument, it's to enjoy his insight.

Where is the this thread is incredibly stupid vote option?

All these players were great. I assume he is an Alex Nylander fan based on the fact it's about Rantanen and his chirp at Nylanders father.

Don't understand the bad rep Mikko seems to have. He was drafted 10th overall for a reason, he scored 20 goals in his rookie season on the 48 points Avs. Avalanche improved, he established some serious chemistry with MacKinnon and Landy. He's a big guy with lots of skill and a solid shot. Anyone thinking this season from Rantanen is a fluke will be in for a big surprise lasting for 10+ years.

Well I've never been that impressed by Kariya. Dude was mooching off of Selanne for most of his career. Kariya even said he wouldn't have made the Hall of fame if it wasn't for Selanne...
