Hmmmm. I wonder if Russo and Gentille's content is different (while excellent, I agree) is because they aren't spending half their lives chasing the team and wrapping post-game writeups in 90 minutes while on the road staying in shitty hotels. Different horses for different courses. (I admit I really don't know what the f*** that means, but I wanted to type it)

Chef's drunk mom sure thought he was handsome! The critic (McTeer) is another amazing actor. If you haven't seen "Ozark", drop your linen and stop your grinin. Even some accounting angles.
Russo was a beat writer for the Cats and the Wild and does post games what are you talking about?

Yohe just is a shitty puppet.

Julian McKenzie is new to the Flames beat. He regularly is questioning Sutter. Hasse and Shirey in our own market do more thought provoking post game wrap ups than Yohe.

He just ain’t a good writer.

My bad, omit Russo, I don't follow him. Restrict it to Gentille and my comment remains. And your response here makes it patently obvious any future discussion on this will be wasted energy.

I mean you are more than entitled to like Yohe’s work. I’d rather read Mark Madden tbh. At least he doesn’t pretend he’s a journalist and acts like the shock jock he is.

Yohe pretends he is a journalist when in reality he is just a hand of the organization.

If we had better goaltending, and better defense the lines wouldn't really matter.
defense starts with the 3-up top. if they can't do their job it's up to the defensemen to stop them. if the defensemen don't do their job, then it falls on the goalie. and if he doesn't do his job then you have the pen's

I really don't care about Yohe's work. I just get my back up when folks have to supplement their criticism with fabricated or exaggerated bullshit. Like you did in this very thread (again) while referencing the article on Tocchet. A (perhaps exaggerated) example- Yohe: "the Penguins were not totally awful today" Pixies: "Yohe again lauds the Penguins performance while recognizing Sullivan's tactical excellence" ;-)
My statement should have read "*IF* Yohe is including Sid's comment as some sort of proof it's not the system that's stupid".

In any case, you're right I didn't read the article. I don't subscribe to that stuff and so I quoted the part that was readily available to be read. Doesn't change the overall point that Sid's not going to throw anyone under the bus -- whether it be coach or fellow teammate -- even if they ARE the reason for the struggles. That's just not Sid's style.

This is twice now where you've suggested I've accused you of being a Yohe apologist. The other thread got closed before I could respond, so I'll do so here. My comment (in the other thread) wasn't directed at you. It was at someone else who is notorious for constantly defending Yohe and criticizing anyone who dares do so.
Sorry if I wasn't clear, was NOT suggesting you were the accuser. I was thinking more of Pixies and company. And like I said, I agree with your take on Sid's public commentary. But this ain't about me, I'm a big boy and can defend myself, and on this subject I was merely critiquing the manner in which Yohe is treated/described in here, not weighing in in terms of the quality, or lack thereof, of his content. But f***, I think this has been beat to death, so I'm happy to leave it be.

My whole bit is exaggerated bullshit, Cascade.

Bottom 10? Absurd. Bottom 15? Still a stretch. We are coming off a tough month missing key defenders and our only G who doesn't suck. This team certainly has a very limited ceiling for sure, and one should not change April travel plans because of this bunch, but bottom 10 is pure hyperbole.

Bedard is basically a statistically impossible fantasy. Don't know why this concept has legs in here, but it is ridiculous. Assuming lottery rules remain the same as last year, the bottom five lottery-eligible teams are precluded from winning the first pick as 10 spots is the maximum move up. The Penguins will not be the 11th worst team in the league. We will likely regress to the mean, squeak in, and get slaughtered in the first round.
I truly hope we are able to finish bottom 10.

Don't worry despite your love of Josh Yohe, I'll still give you advice when you come to Joshua Tree.

I actually just put an application in to move to a house there.
I got mean letters from Hertz about what I supposedly did to the Toyota 4Runner they rented me which I took off road in JT. I mean, why call it a 4Runner if you can't use it? Where is the house? Palm Desert/ Catherdral CIty, 29 (?) Palms? Magical area, for sure. Go Firebirds!

Joshua Tree. My wife's family is from the area and my family relocated to Redlands which is within the area.

Also, just tired of San Diego been here a decade shortly. Love it, but the people and the cost just gets old.

Totally get it. I lived in SWFL for a long time. Watched what was a wonderful fishing village with cool houses and real folks replaced by mega, tasteless homes owned by mega douchebags. Fun to live in "paradise", but tough to experience the evolution.

I'm fine with the evolution outside of the cost.

Joshua Tree is going the same way tbh.

Probably will save up money out there to relocate somewhere we can actually purchase a house.

Evolution and appreciation are forever interwoven, unfortunately. And there are, frankly, too many damn people. Beautiful, remote Washington areas where small houses on big lots went for $150,000 pre Summer 2020 now go for $800,000, primarily due to the influx Microsofties and Amazonians who can work from home. Of course now there is no affordable housing for teachers, wait staff, nurses, carpenters, etc. Finding nice places where non-millionaires can move will become more and more challenging.

Is this a photoshop? Or is this really Dumo's current adjusted value stats?

Because when Sullivan says "He needs to coach better..."

God, I hope they don't re-sign Dumoulin. But the whole "father-son peptalk" demotion to the 3rd pairing while talking up his professionalism and compete level and shit, before putting Dumo right back up with Letang is... Uh, concerning.
