Benn had an amazing three year peak starting in 2013 with an Art Ross, two 1st team all-stars, and a 2nd team all-star.

Usually those accomplishments would have Benn solidly on a path to the HHoF. But imo he fell off so much after his peak that he needs more than a single Stanley Cup win to get a HHoF induction.

Pretty sure he won an Olympic gold in there as well.

Then again, so did Chris Kunitz.

Still though, Benn was good enough at the time to crack that roster.

If he wins a Cup with Dallas - and damn would that ever be sweet - he might still not be a HOF lock but I feel like he'd make it in eventually.

Remove the golds

Only Trophy he has won is the art ross in 2014/2015

30+ goal season unless you are in double digits mean nothing

He has only 1 40+ goal season

right is also not a pt per game player 911 pts in 1121 games

Think the game just changed and got so fast he couldn't sustain that kind of offensive pop.

And it did sort of seem like he got paid and coasted for a bit.

my no vote comes with an *.

If he reaches 500 goals--he will more than likely get in. He is at 385 or 115 away--so if he plays 4 more years he might reach that and get in

Benn is 35 years old now, he’s scored 104 goals since hitting age 30–an average of 20.4 goals/season.

Another 115 goals is highly improbable.

No. Outside of being one of the worst Art Ross winners in history, his career hasn't been particularly amazing. He was becoming an amazing power forward, but his peak was too short.

A strange conjunction of events led to him winning an Art Ross with 87 points.

If that hadn’t happened, there would be zero suggestion of him as a Hall candidate.

The committee makes head-scratching decisions sometimes, but not to the extent of putting the guy in the Hall solely because he won a fluke scoring title.

I'm surprised that people are so pessimistic about him getting in. *If* he wins a Cup with Dallas, and assuming he plays another couple seasons, he would be the Captain of a Cup winner + 1000 points. Throw in an Art Ross. That pretty much gets you in.

And I really don't like Jamie Benn. But he's got a solid case.
