Pronger is a top 20 dman of all time. He won’t come anywhere close.

I avoid these things after learning over the years. Probability says you are right but there are no winner or losers with future predictions and beating each other up with it. Negative perception posters will target over hyping and positive minds will focus on who they can be knowing it might not happen but why bother focus on that? Living your life with your head down all the time is not how I live mine.

Remember when Suzuki was compared to Bergergon and KK to Kopitar/Barkov? Sometimes it happens, sometimes not.

Fair statement on Reinbacher is some mix of Pietrangelo, Doughty, and Lindholm. Maybe he turns into a Brodin. We are all guessing

It’s fine to make these kind of comparisons but you have to be realistic (Pietrangelo for example like you mentioned). Pronger is setting the bar way too high.

True for your first point, many variable we don't know. And yes, its indeed a silly exercise. I think the new GM is a polar opposite to the former one tho. They seems to have a plan, a direction and aim for player that will thrive in our market.

The new management team has played their hands. The bet has been made. They are gonna grow and go with Slaf, Dach, Suzuki, CC, Newhook, Guhle, Reinbacher and possibly Hutson as the main pieces of our team. I think its full of promise but i do agree its lacking in the present and until they are done improving, we won't know if its sufficient.

I think its the polar opposite of the former administration. We liked MB individual moves and many thoughts he was a master trader. While really he was risk-averse and bought 1$ dollar player for penny while lacking direction and vision. With Hugo, some moves have been appreciated, but the franchise-altering decision have been mostly hated while finally, in the big picture, it feels there is a direction, a vision.

I do really hate Martin Lapointe and i think he sounds f***ing dumb. But he and Bobrov had a point yesterday, they want to build a culture and have players that fit into this culture. Reading between the lines, they did not saw Michkov as a fit there, as disappointing as it is. I remember MSL talked about the Bruins as a team that had a strong culture. If it was Therrien and Bergevin i would be afraid and disgusted by such a discourse. But in the case of MSL, what he has done as a player and since being here as coach, the way he speaks, i am ready to give him the benefit of the doubt here until he proves me wrong.

Cheer ReHabs! Lets hope we will find a superstar forward rather sooner than later. I expect that if our young core is showing promises and growth, Hughes will be very agressive on the trade market to bring one in.
I think Boston is a very good comparable for the culture concept. Boston managed to keep it going for much longer than anyone anticipated, and despite Julien's bad coaching and many draft mistakes. Culture is important and we can see that Toronto's culture is rotten and bad and so it's better not to commit to players who won't fit. With that said, Boston had a lot of talent and were not shy to acquire talent either.

I hope their analysis tools set them the right way re: Slaf and Reinabcher.

I don't need to be told to have trust in Hughes, I need Hughes to earn it by providing performances and results commensurate with that of a competitive team.

The fact that he's not ditched or bought out the contracts of Eddy, Armia or Hoffman is maddening. We need to give TOI to players, what's he waiting for?

Agree on Hughes.

Its a business that is based on results and that is what we will judge in the end.

Don't really care about Hoffman, Armia and Eddy contract. They are respectively remaining 1,2 and 1 years on each. Doubt they will prioritize one of them over a deserving rookie. Edmundson and Armia will also probably be injured for most of the season.
