Who is Rempe playing with?

Being pointless is a tough look after being gifted a spot out or camp.
per Molly on the weekend:
"Matt Rempe continues to center the Hartford Wolf Pack’s second line between Adam Sykora and Anton Blidh"

seems to me, points don't have much to do with Rempe's game, despite his lucky playoff goal

It shouldn't be the sole measure of success for him but at the end of the day, the name of the game is to score more than the other team.

Goon squad or not, not being able to positively contribute in that category at all (with decent linemates, especially at that level) is not exactly a positive sign.

Not looking for him to be a point per game, but throwing up goose eggs is not good.

I don’t believe you are engaging in fair discourse.
Matt Rempe has played in 5 games with the Wolf Pack prior to tonight’s game.
He has only played as the #2 Center in the last three.
He has also been given PP and PK minutes.
If you want to flame a prospect to enforce your narrative, go ahead, it’s your right.

Glad I’m here to show other posters that they might want take your AHL opinions on Matt Rempe with a grain of salt.

Final, 4-2 Wolf Pack. Another defensemen goal. Fitzgerald (en).
Domingue in goal.
Berard started a bit of a riot. Crushed Sourif in the corner with a great hit. When Brett was skating up ice to get back into play, Sourif jumped him and started punching him with Berard on the ice.

Charlotte pulled one back late but Fitzgerald iced it with the ENG for a 4-2 win.

Hartford had 4 goals scored by 4 different players all who are defensemen. I can't imagine that happens often at any level. Robertson also had 2 assists, so 5 defensemen with points. Hillman was the only one without a point.

Figured Mancini scores in his first game. I just don't get how Rangers management thought being sent down would help the Rangers.

This is why players that throw hits must know how to fight. Sadly in 2024 players can't take a clean hit.

Mancini was very impressive in training camp and also through the 9 games he played. That said he was definitely the No. 6 with 15+ minutes average ice time while we were waiting for Lindgren to come back. When Zac Jones slotted back into the lineup this time looking like it's for keeps Mancini became the No. 7 guy or the guy who was going to sit a lot and the Rangers thought he'd be better playing in Hartford than Ruhwedel who is one of those who can sit for a while and come in and do okay if necessary.

I'm not sure what's to complain about. I think at this point most of us know that Mancini can hang as an NHL'er and barring some catastrophic injury he's going to be an NHL player very soon. We're only going to be playing 6 and as soon as next year I'm kind of suspecting both Trouba and Lindgren are going to be cap casualties if only to help pay for Igor's new contract.

As far as Berard---he's small and his career path with USA hockey and then college hockey...there is hardly any fighting in the leagues he's played in. Sourdif's career path is quite a bit different coming out of the WHL and he's bigger besides. In any case it sounds like he jumped Berard. Bigger guy jumps smaller guy---there's not much the smaller guy is going to be able to do. Why would we want Berard getting into fights though? He's a pest and asshole to play against without that.

to each his own,
i never got how keeping him up, once top 6 healthy, would help the Rangers
the kid's had just a couple months of pro hockey,

the more you believe in him, maybe the even more to be prudent with him ...

Rongites do not learn from the mistakes of the past. It's the prospects fault - and theirs alone - that being thrust into the NHL resulted in failing to meet expectations.

This is a weird twist on the 98% of posts that blame management for this sort of thing.

Other teams would have scratched Lindgren or anyone that isn't playing well. But Lindgren makes over 3 mil so no way he can be scratched or benched. Country Club is at it catering to vets that haven't won or deserve to play if they play like crap.

Maybe? Probably? I would say most coaches if not all would give Lindgren some time to play through things. Laviolette is a dinosaur coach so he's practically always going to do that.

Dinosaur coaches can add lot of good infrastructure and stability - they're also slow to adapt and often have obvious bad biases. Good and bad.

If Lindgren and Mika figure it out, they will cite a steady hand that doesn't panic. If they don't the coach gets fired. Both happen.

Wtf is wrong with Berard? 1 point in the last 8 games? What a disappointment this season. Crazy how people thought he would be pushing for a spot with the NYR roster.

FWIW Mancini isn't typical of a kid coming out of the CHL at 20 years old. He has size and skates really well and his bread and butter is his defense. That said since turning pro we've seen him pushing the offense a bit and that's not really his bread and butter though if he can improve that area of his game he makes himself a much more valuable player. Developing that part of his game might call for some time in Hartford but IMO he could hang in the NHL no problem right now if he focused just on playing defense.

Really shocked Rempe didn't do anything.

Berard should man up and challenge Sourif when they rematch on Tuesday. It would be the right thing to do

10 pts in 14 games.
The 5 game pointless streak is maybe mildly concerning, but I also kind of assume bunch scoring happens a fair bit in the AHL, especially with younger players.
8 pts in the first 5 games
0 pts in the next 5
2 in 4 (so far) after that

is berard getting shots?

In the last 3 games (starting from the game on 11/10), not at all. 1 shot and 1 point (an assist) in those 3 games, compared to 2-5 per game from the start of the season up until a week ago. I haven't been watching much Hartford and it looks like the AHL doesn't make ice time publicly available, so I can't say how much he's playing/if his ice time is any different than usual.

Hartford playing the mini-Bruins tonight, 1-1 going into the 2nd. Shots are 7-10 Hartford to Providence. Hartford just had a goal called back with 2 seconds left in the 1st from a goalie interference penalty on Roobroeck. He cut across the net and skated into/through Providence's goalie and took out his skate. Berard does have an assist on Hartford's goal from Blake Hillman. Our boy Vinni Letteri has Providence's lone goal. Rempe took an interference penalty. Garand in net.
