If Henrik Lundqvist or Rinne was playing for the Coyotes

What kind of numbers do you think they would put up in Tippets system? We all know Daves system has an impressive track record for making average starters looking like All stars with very good numbers. Would be interesting to see how Henrik or Pekka would do. They would probably have a .960SV%, with a 1.20GAA and 11SO.

LOL no chance. Those are some pretty insane/impossible periphs for any goalie to put up. Brodeur's best season was 1.80 GAA and a .927 SV& in a system that maybe favored goalies as much as Tippets if not more with a much much better defensive corps in front of him and great two-way defensively responsible forwards than the Yotes have. (not saying Brodeur was sole product of the system)

Hank's highest was 1.97 in a pretty defensive system under Torts. I can't speak for the 2010-2011 Preds, but Rinne's high of 2.12 that season is impressive. Both had a .930 save percentage the year of their career highs.

I think their numbers might slightly improve under Tippett's system, but no matter the system, a 1.8 is pretty insane across an entire season. Even if you took a tenth off their GAA's, that still puts Hank at a 1.87 and Rinne at a 2.02.

Obviously they would be better, but just random lobs from the point bouncing off stuff would be enough to negate those kinds of stats.

The team would be performing better but I think those numbers are absurd. You realize both the Rangers and the Preds, in the last decade, have produced better defensive systems than Arizona/Phoenix's, right? Mike Smith is a Canadian Olympic Team goalie and can't keep the puck out. Even Dubnyk is still playing well in Minny proving it was him and not the system.

Arizona has great defensemen in what is considered a defensive system but they are not a better defensive team than (Trotz') Nashville and (Tort's) New York

They aren't better than Nashville under Lavy or NYR under Vigneault either. Speaking specifically about Rinne since I see the Preds more than any other team, I don't see him putting up better numbers under Tippett in Arizona. In fact, I imagine he would put up worse numbers this year.

To be perfectly honest, I agree. I was just being polite by putting the most obvious argument. ;)

.960 and 1.20? You're not giving the goalies much credit.

I wonder if they'd be scored on ever.
