I think Carrier will be fine. Principal point of contact was his shoulder/neck, it was a clean hit. But they will call up Reinbacher if they have too.

It’s playoff hockey, they need to be use to it

That's my point. Reinbacher has a grand total of 0 NHL games and they've followed a strict protocol for his recovery. Washington targeted Laines knees and they'll do the same to Reinbacher. It would be foolish to put that kind of risk and pressure on him. They're not winning the cup this year.

Reinbacher is pretty good to handle forecheckers, so I wouldnt be that worried, but I understand the fans who would rather play it safe since that serie has been insanely physical.

Personally I want to see what he has in him and we need a RD. We don’t have many other options either

He has the talent, but this would be a case of looking at the trees rather than the forest. There's very little to be gained for him and we don't have to guess if Washington will target him and his knees, they will. We know it, because they've been doing it all series and the refs are penalizing Montreal. This isn't the time to risk his health. Some will say the AHL is worse, but its not. Reinbacher's physical and IQ advantage is far greater there. In the playoffs, he'd be like Demidov trying to survive.

Lots of posters have watched more Laval than me, so I'll admit some ignorance regarding Reinbacher's readiness.

But I saw @montreal suggest bringing him up and that's a pretty good endorsement. If you do bring him up, you should give him a regular shift not 8 minutes as the 7th D.

I don't think the injury concern should factor in. He's either in game shape or not.

Carrier was playing shutdown role vs top competition. Reinbacher is the only one with that type of level to step into those minutes. I don't understand why people want to keep him in bubble wrap. They were resting him because of soreness swelling which is normal when returning from a knee. He's 100% now.

The safe play is to dress Struble, but I'd say f*ck it and go with Reinbacher and 6D. My guess is that Hughes had him slotted in the lineup at the beginning of the season. Well, it might come later than he wanted, but now is the time.

I want to see what kind of gamer Reinbacher is. If Subban could do it, I'm sure he can too.

Guhle needs to hit the weight room.

Carrier shouldn't be in our top-6 going forward. I don't mind smaller dman if they are offensively gifted,

He is a blackhole offensively and 5"11 on a heck of a good day and 175 pounds. Hope they get rid of him quick.
