Player Discussion Quinn Hughes, Pt. VII

another crazy scenario is if Petey returns to being a PPG player again. And we trade Petey and maybe Willander for both Hughes. We may even have to add. Even though Petey has a much higher cap hit, Jack does have a hard time staying healthy. If Quinn is deadset on playing with his brothers, we may have to swing for the fences and throw a massive overpay for Jack and Luke because losing Quinn would be alot worse for this team.
ya thats not even remotely close for the devils dude

Devils literally never trading Jack or Luke. It'll never happen. They might as well just wait 2 years for Quinn to be an FA. I would probably just trade Quinn to the highest bidder at this point. :)

There should be an automatic ignore button for a these NJ wankers who show up on our boards.
Let those idiots come. Quinn called New Jersey a dump, when asked about Luke being drafted by the devils. Him wanting to play with his brother was referencing to team USA.

Or maybe he just leaves. This management group sucks anyways.

I would probably just re-sign Quinn at this point, personally.

Theres no chance hes going to NJ though. He called it a dump.
Vancouver stereotype is that we riot
New jersey stereotype is that its the toilet bowl of the NHL.

we will keep him or else I close my account. I'm finished as a Canucks fan.

Why would they want to come to vancouver, we can't even sign a top prospect.
I can't believe we are having this discussion in 2025. My gosh we sank to a new low.

UNLESS the plan to actually not sign him and we have some sexy trade agreed on and we get surprised at trade deadline. but yea, i'm not holding my breath on that.

i think our owner needs to sell our team, seriously he needs to back off. At this rate, we will never attract any talent, when is the last time vancouver has successfully sign a big name player?

when did Quinn Hughes actually say he wants to join his brothers? does anyone have a clip of quinn saying it? I don't want to hear anything from demented Jim Rutherford. Please provide source if possible. Thanks.

Unfortunately we're going to have this going on for the next year at least. Honestly though, I'd be a bit shocked if Quinn gave up on "his" team. Captain, and already well on his way to legendary team status with name up in the rafters (and likely best player in franchise history) the eldest of the 3 bros, in his prime... and leaves to go play with his younger bros on a team that isn't exactly a cup favorite or anything.

Bolster the forwards in the offseason, plus a healthy EP, and the team is back in the playoffs with Hughes re-signing for 8 years. Then we can tell everyone how the other Hughes' will be leaving NJ to play with Quinn. We'll make up pathetic offers and tell them to take it, otherwise we'll just wait and sign them for free.

Its a really strong contender. Would have been a contender this year without the injuries.

Getting the team closer to the cup than what NJD already is WITH OUT THEM ADDING QH is a tall order.

Need a few more Dev fans to chime in before I can really have an opinion.

it just doesn't make sense given the contract lengths of the two younger brothers. Like Vancouver, you go to NJ games now and everyone has 86,43, and 13 jerseys. And despite Jack's non-stellar interview skills, they've been great sons of the organization and the community. Not going to dump their contracts in 2 years and tell the fans it's over. Just nonsensical.

I think NJ is still a clear step below the contenders. I also think nobody had worse injury/player issues than what Van experienced this season. It really was a special kind of worst case scenario, yet they were still hanging around a playoff spot.

They are tier 2 right now if healthy. Add QH and they are legit. Likely will be legit without him.

We are a playoff bubble team with QH. Remove him and we are bottom 5.

And the runway towards contending isnt there right now. No matter how lucky they were in 23-24 or unlucky in 24-25.
