They have a better chance to win a cup with Trotz than Gallant. That is what's important.
They aren't winning a Cup with either until they understand Jimmy Vesey's face isn't the target they should be shooting for

Yea who the heck wants to win anyway?!

Winning with Trotz would be too easy. Need to gut it out with Gallant to really show everyone else!
This team just went to an ECF.You could put Jesus behind the bench and they ain't winning the Cup.Trotz isn't going to magically make them all shoot better

The goal is to simply play Libor Hajek as much as possible without dropping below a .500 team

And gosh darn it, Gallant is doing just swimmingly at that right now
Has Hajek been a problem?
How about we talk about the real weak link on D? The man wearing the C has been a dumpster fire. Forget the ridiculous contract. He's been awful by any standard. He's not even laying people out to distract the masses from his awful play.

I don't want to fall asleep watching a Trotz coached team.Easy pass
Was Washington boring with Trotz? I remember the first year there were some growing pains...one of Ovi's worst seasons where Trotz played him on RW and wanted him to put some effort on defense. I don't remember the Caps being dead puck.

Maybe Trotz utilizes the talent he has? Isles and Preds didn't have enough talent so they had to trap. Washington was a great forechecking team.

There is a 0.0% chance Panarin, Zib, Kreider and Fox will play Trotz hockey. They already got Quinn fired and he let them run the show.

Hire him for the gong show and subsequent team quitting in 20 games. Miller would probably look better?

If Quinn couldn't get a young presumably coachable team to play N/S hockey despite publicly and privately begging for it for years I don't know what possesses people to think any coach will be listened to..the top players on 8 year contracts, that's security, baby.

Last season was likely our peak; we might get to the second round if we make a timely coaching change, but I fully expect us to come back down next season (and trend further downward). This is the time to sell Mika and Kreider — while they still have value. Trouba too. Then let the kids learn structure and discipline under Trotz — with a proper skills coach.

It’s not a popular opinion; it’s not pretty hockey. But it’s likely what’s best for us looking beyond the next 2-3 seasons.
