I was NOT a believer but Cole Caufield is the BEST Player from the 2019 Draft.

Dude, your reply is so pedestrian. Caufield has a better 5v5 +/-. The only reason his ES +/- is worst than Boldy is because he's been on the ice for more empty net goals. Be a big boy and learn that in this age of rampant empty net goals, looking up the 5v5 collumn before making a comment about ES +/-, which includes empty nets, will help you save face. Empty net goals allowed is more reflective of the team's overall play, as better teams will tend to have less empty nets allowed.

Caufield is +10 at 5v5, while Boldy is +7.

Also while we're at it, Caufield is a much better 5v5 producer than Boldy this season as he has 40 5v5 points in 880 minutes while Boldy has 29 points in 995 minutes of play:

Boldy gets far more of his points from the PP.

Caufield has a worst 5v5 GA/60 at 2.66 vs 1.93 for Boldy, but plays in front of much worst goalies and defense than Boldy does. Caufield smokes him in GF/60 though. He's 3.30 while Boldy is 2.32.

Also, Caufield has 50 primary points, while Boldy has 39.

I stated that hes having his best year to date and Boldys year has been a mildly disappointing, you guys act as if Minnesota has been an offensive juggernaut this year, there god awful without Kaprizov, I was expecting Boldy to become a PPG player this year, he was on pace until Kaprizov got injured.. his production has taken a dip without Kirill. I believe Boldy just is too young to be "the" guy right now, with Kaprizov on the top line with Zuccy takes pressure off him, but he needs a healthy EEK and/or a Marcus Johanson replacement. I'm not saying Caufield isnt a stud, just I wouldn't trade Boldy for him straight up

Caufield is an incredibly complete player. Knows exactly how to play to his strengths and has really improved the non shooting aspects of his game. He's an excellent all round offensive player, and far from being a liability in his own end

To be fair, to fans from other teams that maybe only see Caufield a handful of times a season, there has been an enormous improvement in Caufield's defensive play this season.

When the Four Nations rosters were announced earlier this year, was the highest scoring American forward in the NHL for goal production, yet left off the team.

I thought the choice made sense, because Caufield was poor defensively and under-sized.

By the time the tournament began, only a few short months later, Caufield's defensive game had improved by leaps and bounds. I don't know if these things are connected, if he heard that criticism and wanted to take away any excuse for him being left off of an Olympic roster, but his game has dramatically changed.

He's not just gone from being bad to average defensively, he's actually got to the point where I dare say he's a "complete" player and he's been more and more effective without the puck. His game has grown, a lot, this season.

Boldy's career high is 29 goals and 69 points and is pacing for 26 goals and 69points this year.

Best thing to happen to Suzuki/Caufield and the habs was for those two to be snubbed from the 4 nations roster. Suzuki is a man on a mission with a point to prove since that tournament.

Exactly I expected 80 pts, Boldys been so streaky throughout his whole career, I thought he'd pull it all together this season, but with Kirill out well have to revisit next year and compare.

Rebuilding after bottoming out from a quarter century of success is a painful process.
How is that going?

I expected 50 goals and 90 points from Caufield, his season is also moderately disappointing.

Lmao faceoffs are not a measurement of a great center. Hughes metrics show he’s actually good defensively, in fact he’s better defensively than Hischier who gets touted as a selke type player.
Let me guess JF cards right?

Hughes isn't better defensively than Hischier.

Spend more time watching them.

One thing I find absolutely shocking is that 96% of the people posting in this thread are arguing a case for the player who plays for their favourite team!

That is truly uncommon.
As a huge Wisconsin Badgers fan and Minnesota Wild fan, I’ve argued both sides of the Caufield vs Boldy argument. Boldy is definitely the better overall player. Caufield is the better goal scorer.
