I was NOT a believer but Cole Caufield is the BEST Player from the 2019 Draft.

Plus minus is a trash stat.

Again, the Canadiens have one decent center. After Suzuki they fall off a cliff. Put CC with a decent 2nd line player and not much is going to change. He’s a huge reason Suzuki has the points he does.

We are arguing the same arguement, Boldy is taking a huge load off for Rossi, which is why he is having a break out season.
I just think Boldy gets the edge overall in skill, I think there even offensively, but defensively Boldy wins this and imo is why hes the better winger.

One thing I find absolutely shocking is that 96% of the people posting in this thread are arguing a case for the player who plays for their favourite team!

That is truly uncommon.

There are two ways to look at things, backward looking and forward looking. Backward looking I see that Hughes is the best and Seider is 2nd. Then there's a group of other players that are really good - Boldy and CC among them. Want to say that Boldy's been better? That's fine.

Forward looking, I believe that CC will improve those numbers in the coming years. I think there's another level for him to get to. My belief is that he will have some 50 goal seasons. But he hasn't done that yet and may never do it. We will see. But I think that when all is said and done, he can get to the number two spot in the draft. Again though, that may never happen.

As a Canadiens fan, I have to tell you... it's nice to finally be able to actually make an argument for one of my players not named Carey Price. :)

I can see your reasoning for sure! Caufield has the potential to be second, hes a sniper, just Boldy has potential to be a 50 50 guy, Guerins words. Give him a year or two until Minnesota gets a Mojo replacement, and a healthy Kap. We will revisit in a few years and it will definitely be interesting.

Why is this 11 pages , a simple no would have sufficed
Some people see a thread about a player and feel compelled to offer their pithy observations on the team he plays for. Here at HF, we don't judge. We allow them to work out their trauma in a supportive, loving environment, then gently guide them back on topic.

Hes more physical then Caufield thats for sure, and a lot harder to knock off the puck, Minnesota has been without Kap for 3 months , so Boldys getting all the attention defensively. If Suzuki misses 3 months this year , Caufield dont have 30 simple as that.
And Boldys been laying the body more since 4nations, and is by far the superior defensive forward.
Boldy have 36 hits this year. He's not physical at all. Caufield, even with his midget size, have more hits than him . Boldy played with Kaprizov last year and didnt do much better than this year.

I notice every time a Habs player comes up +- is brought up when it is one of the most useless stat and it is barely brought up when it comes to non habs players. HF being silly as usual.

I take Hughes and Seider over him, but, based on his play this season, he makes a great case for 3rd best player from that draft along with Boldy.
