Why is this 11 pages , a simple no would have sufficed
Some people see a thread about a player and feel compelled to offer their pithy observations on the team he plays for. Here at HF, we don't judge. We allow them to work out their trauma in a supportive, loving environment, then gently guide them back on topic. Why is this 11 pages , a simple no would have sufficed
Boldy have 36 hits this year. He's not physical at all. Caufield, even with his midget size, have more hits than him . Boldy played with Kaprizov last year and didnt do much better than this year.Hes more physical then Caufield thats for sure, and a lot harder to knock off the puck, Minnesota has been without Kap for 3 months , so Boldys getting all the attention defensively. If Suzuki misses 3 months this year , Caufield dont have 30 simple as that.
And Boldys been laying the body more since 4nations, and is by far the superior defensive forward.
I don’t think Caufield is the best player from his draft class, that being said he put up 12 pts in 20 playoff games, only behind Suzuki and Toffoli on the habs as a rookie.Too small to be a difference maker come playoff time to have over those guys who are studs with size.
I notice every time a Habs player comes up +- is brought up when it is one of the most useless stat and it is barely brought up when it comes to non habs players. HF being silly as usual.

You do know there is a "ignore" button right? if this bothers you this much lol.Jack Hughes is best player from 2017 draft..Shut this mess down it's a joke.He has 17 pts more right now and played 1 less game.Overall has 351 pts to 205 ..Shut this down.
PK minutes objectively do nothing but help your +/-Suzuki shelters him defensively and that is a fact. Caufield is -1 this season while playing no pk minutes, and Suzuki is +7 playing all situations.
Caufield has never been a plus in any of his seasons. Hockey has 2 sides to the game, and Suzuki is a better center then anyone Boldy has played with ( excluding Kap obvs).
And when Boldy plays with Kap his PPG go up. Also Boldy has never been a minus player in his career, while playing with less quality players.
Boldy and Caufield have been on the ice together a whole lot over the years. There hasn't been a single game I have seen of them where I would say Caufield was the better player. Its not close really, and the professional scouts obviously agree based on recent international team decisions.Boldy is much harder to knock off the puck then Caufield.
There is no denying that.
Last season Boldy was over a ppg for the last 20 games playing with kaprizov and JEE,
This year Boldy played about 5 games with Kap.

They still play almost exclusively together 5 on 5 , so saying Suzuki dont inflate Caufields +/- is hilarious. They both complement each other, but Suzuki is the driving force on that line, and the anchor defensively.PK minutes objectively do nothing but help your +/-
It's time on the ice where you physically cannot record a -, but you can record a +.
I have no problem with anyone taking one player over another. But a selection to a National team is not proof of anything and is greatly undercut by the fact that the team in question lost while only mustering two goals.Thank you!
Boldy made 4 nations and Caufield didnt,
That should answer this question.
Speaks to a dedication to the game, both mentally and physically. I know he isn't much of a defensive player, but
Thank you!

Cirelli has a couple rings, wouldn't be a bad idea...... lmaoHe's +7 at 5vs5 despite always being used on the first line on a shitty defensive team. He's not Selke worthy, but his defense is good.
Maybe we should trade Suzuki for Cirelli then?
Boldy is +6 at 5v5. Rossi, is linemate, is +17..........by your reasoning, Rossi is the driving force on that line, and the anchor defensivelyThank you!

Personally I take Gilbert Dionne over Marcel. After all, he’s the one with the ring.Cirelli has a couple rings, wouldn't be a bad idea...... lmao
To be fair , canadian head coach Jon Cooper definitely had an influence, couple head scratchers in leaving Scheifiele off for TK.
