I Warned You About Marner

His game is not driving the net. It’s using his speed and skill to create plays for his linemates which he did very well tonight. It’s completely possible to be a valuable member of a championship team playing like that. See Pat Kane for example. As long as Mitch doesn’t get pushed outta games and he battles he can be very valuable.

Um do you know what Pat Kane has done? Mitch marner is no pat Kane. He wasn't as bad as Matthews this tournament but one good game in 4 isn't impressive. This playoffs will be huge for him.

"leagues best playmaker". I think he'll make the squad but he's going to have a whole lot of other guys coming for his spot.
 
Mitch Marner had a hell of a game. Yeah I know his past in the playoffs. Whatever. The guy is an amazingly smart hockey player. He makes passes like prime Sedins. Short little passes that create opportunities. I think he's gonna prove his haters wrong this year. The pressure doesn't get any more intense than that and he was one of the best players on the ice.

Mitch Marner was spectacular tonight.

Two picture-perfect set ups on the game tying goal and then on the game winning goal. In addition to his game winning overtime snipe in the opening game.

Now would be an appropriate time for everyone who tried to criticize his play throughout the tournament to take a moment to bow their heads and quietly whisper “I’m sorry I doubted you, Mitch Marner.”

I got so much grief over Marner. For years I said Marner should NOT be on Team Canada. For YEARS I was ridiculed.

I heard how good he is. How you cannot leave those points at home. How LOTS of players bleep the bed in the playoffs but do wonderfully when playing for Canada.

Marner's NO LOOK pass 6 on 5... WOW!

We lost possession and the next thing you know, it was 3-1. What was Marner thinking? Oh yeah, as usual, he wasn't thinking.

Marner was perfectly fine in this tournament.
 
Marner had a great tournament I thought he was a difference maker, he won the Sweden game and he set up Bennett for the tying goal and McDavid for all the marbles tonight. He is absolutely one of Canada's best players and will be front and centre for the 2026 Olympics too.

I hate marner as much as the next rational human being out there. But dude was fantastic. Cirelli was the right C for him. Let him play like a premier playmaker. Leafs should take note of what culture does to players. Looked like marner before joining the leafs
