I know it’s still early but I want to give the opportunity for anyone who wishes to recant their earlier statements in this thread.

The Islanders are First in their division in goals for, Second overall in goals for in the entire Eastern Conference and 4th in scoring in the entire league. They just blanked the Rangers, annihilated the Hurricanes, and manhandled the Stanley Cup Champs and in the process set a new NHL record for penalty kills to start a season.
Overachievers under Trotz?
No offensive talent?
Everyone got better around them?
Lottery team?
Can‘t hang with the so-called ”contenders”?
