Nah I have no interest watching hockey Christmas Eve or Christmas. Boxing Day world juniors comes on. I’m good.

Agreed. And they should do an in-season mini-tournament where the winning team gets Christmas dinner with their families and the captains of the other 31 teams have to cook it.

Enjoy time with your family the 3 months off unlike me who only gets the 1 day I get on Xmas when I can't enjoy it watching the sport we all love like we'd want to

I work in an industry where xmas day is just another day of work. So I do not even get the 25th off. I have no problem with this break. One thing I like about the NHL over the NBA or NFL is that they give their people the time off over the holidays. By people? I also mean those who work the arenas and all other aspects that take place when a game is played. They do not get 3 months off a year

The NHL would have no interest in having flagship games going head to head with the NFL on Christmas. They would be competing against a ton of big NFL and NBA match ups.

I think quite a few NHL teams share their arena with NBA teams, so they likely have to work if their team is scheduled on that day. Like, if you are working Rangers, Stars or Bruins games, you are likely working on Christmas.

Not all arenas share off ice staff with each other
